Thanks! I'm hoping we'll be ready to do this within the next week or two. I think it will look really nice.

But good to hear about doing a section, then gluing another part of it to keep going with longer lengths. I was envisioning having a 10 ft piece of fabric on a tarp in the yard and trying to get that into the trailer and into place!

1st trip- Campland, Mission Bay

Finally finished, inaugural camping trip for our little egg! Pismo South Vintage Trailer Rally held this weekend at Mission Bay, San Diego. Had a great time, everyone was so nice and friendly

Notice the porta-potty (right corner), for a joke, our friends made us a little end table for our cocktails! Don't worry, it had never been used LOL

The second picture is it's new home when we're not using it, doesn't
it look sad

Let the camping begin! Woo hoo!!!!
Thanks to everyone on this FG website for all your help, so very kind!

You can do it Sharon! You can fit the material multiple times before you glue it down and then trim to fit as needed.

Scooter to match

Found this skateboard scooter at the swapmeet, it's in pretty rough shape, but the parts are all there. After some cleaning and repair, it's now taped, primed and ready for paint. It's approx a 1979-1981 "Supercruiser," it'll be painted to match the 1981 Perris Pacer. I hope to paint it this weekend, should be fun to buzz around the campgrounds on I like it since it easily folds up.

HA! Dave, I'm the "engine," these didn't come with one. But I'm sure my DH would just love to add an engine. LOL

Adhesive

I'm in the beginning stages of redoing an '82 Perris Pacer. Can you tell me what adhesive you used to glue the insulation to the wall and also to glue the hulliner to the insulation? I considered skipping the insulation and putting the carpet directly on the walls but am reconsidering that now. Thanks for any help!

We used a 3M spray adhesive, the Hi-Strength 90.

Instead of ordering "rat fur" from Scamp, I ordered marine hull liner fabric from PerfectFit.com.

I can't say we enjoyed the process of putting up the fabric (most of the insulation was still sticking pretty well--I used the 3M spray to re-attach where it was sagging), but we love the results!

We still haven't finished renovating AND aside from sleeping in it in the driveway, we haven't had a chance to camp yet!! We'd planned to go a couple of weeks ago for the first time, but that's when we got all the rains and flooding. We *might* try to go somewhere close this weekend. :-)

Hi Katie,

We used 3M 90 for both, so far, so good.(Available at Lowes and Home Depot, easy to find)

We were happily surprised at what a difference the Reflectex insulation made in the temperature of the egg. We are very happy that we didn't skip that step. The Reflectex was easy to install and was nice practice before the hulliner step. By the time we were ready for the hulliner to be installed, we felt like "old pros." So far all of our camping has been "beach" camping, the insulation has helped quite a bit, it's a worthwhile step.

We ordered our hulliner from Perfect Fit, purchased the geometric short pile.
