Interior A/C unit recommendations

Dometic COOL CAT
Under the cabinet Heat Pump 10,500 BTU - For Campers

https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/pro...ol-cat-_-20787

I have a flat roof Amerigo F-16 with minimal support. I really do not want a 100lb+ A/C unit bouncing around up there!

Interior is 14' x 6' x 8' and will be well insulated.

Please tell me who is a good Manufacturer and any ratings would be great.
I see Dometic has other models for trucks and boats that may be applicable.

Thank you
Jonathan

8000 BTU window A/C unit should work fine for your application and cost only a fraction of the price.

IF it's "well insulated", a GE 6050 would do it. But my 9000 Coleman, out in the hot 93+ degree summer sun has to run almost continuously to keep my 13' Scamp cool as I want it :-) The Scamps are not that well insulated regardless what they state.

But most certainly the 8K just mentioned would do it. It's just a little larger and heavier.

The claimed R15 insulation in the new Scamp is bolderdash.
The Reflextex cannot be pressed against anything as it's claimed performance depends on the low emissivity of the aluminized surfaces.
If it is against anything the the aluminum conducts quite well.

Interior mounted AC

My 16 foot Casita had the original Ac in it,but wouldn't cool it good enough.
I bought a Frigidare 10,000 BTU,same physical size.Draws only 8 amps.Even has an economy mode and remote control.
It will cool down our Casita on a hot day pretty quick.Always have to keep it on low.
I highly recommend a Frigidare

I own an A-Frame camper. Most A-frame trailers use a Dometic CoolCat AC/Heat pump. They work well. I use it for both cooling in the summer and heating in the fall. My understanding is that they are specifically built for RV use, so they can stand up to the continual pounding of the traveling trailer. However they are not cheap.

Yep. Actual Scamp insulation R-value is about 1.1 or so.
