Dealing with blasting propane/CO sensor warning

Recently we have had several incidents from our CO/Propane alarm..going off repeatedly at odd hours...in our [near-new] 2018 Casita 17' Independence.

Sometimes "reset' worked..last week not. Finally had to get into fuse box at Oh-frikkin-dark-30 and take out the fuse...to shut th dang ting off so we could sleep. No propane was on. no spray deodorants, no sun screen sprays, no perfume, no rubbing alcohol, no dogs or anybody passing gas near the monitor....ie, nothing from the usual iritations wh make CO/propane alarms go off :-(
Figgered there MUST be a solution bks the TT is only 14 months old and it was in storage from Nov to late March.

Finally found the factory 'manual' and in tiny print there was an admonition to "vacuum the front of the monitor monthly or weekly in dusty areas"

Did just that, annnnd voila' blessed quiet, tho it alarmed when I re-inserted the fuse. This type crap should be included in factory "orientation" IMHO

BTW Wally World sells a new replacement monitor for $67 US, wh I almost bought b4 finding out about the VACUUMING

While it does take the challenge out of solving problems, and it’s not a very manly thing to do, sometimes it does pay to RTFM.

I don't recall the type being that hard to read.

If it's like my propane alarm, it has a timer chip in it, and will intentionally "malfunction" at five years. There are instructions on the unit (and in the manual) to extend this another 30 days if you're on a trip. Drove us nuts until we saw the tiny print molded into the device
