Alf is friendly to Iowans even if they are wisenheimers. We will arrive on Wednesday later in the afternoon about beer thirty. We drive it in two days from the Cedar Rapids area. First night to Fort Wayne. A little farther down the road and just off the interstate is Pokagon state park a little north of Angola. Campground there is pretty good and not too expensive. We have been staying in the states the last couple times after a few years of Crossing Canada. Tolls add up but fuel is less expensive. Traffic seams to flow a little faster. Go through Chicago between 10AM and 2PM if possible. Hope you can make it. If you go make sure you run up to Niagara on the Lake. Beautiful

We are a little late in booking. Talked to the campground and lunch hour and it is all booked up. Only a couple of tent spots left she told me.

Booked up
Those tent spots are not too bad, esp. if they are the ones on the south end of park.

I’d book a tent site and upon arrival ask if there had been any cancellations. Cecelia is very accommodating. From the tent area it’s a short walk to the restrooms and the showers that are always immaculate. Should inclement weather occur, there are numerous clams, pop ups, awnings and flys with friendly folks encamped adjacent. A lawn chair in tow, you can leave your tent after breakfast and not return till lunch. After lunch same routine or a short road trip to the Falls, the weiland locks. Or the shops at Niagara on the Lake or the tasting rooms of a multitude of wineries. Heck, I’ve seen Alf tell MaryAnn he’s headed fo the restroom at 8 AM and she says “ Don’t forget, lunch is at noon. Nobody cares where you’re camped, they just care about you. Beer exchange, nice walking trail across the street, campfire every night, pot luck, free tarp, door prizes, and top it off with Betty’s buffet brunch and you got yourself a rally.

Hi: Don N... I'd keep trying for a last minute cancellation!!! You don't have far to go and I'd really like to see that 25B21RB there... but a visit might just do it. Say around potluck Sat. Night Eh?

Hi Alf!!
Dennis and I are just popping in here to wish you and MaryAnne a fabulous time at your Wine Escape.
Despite our hopes and wishes to get there this year..that isn't going to happen.
But it was wonderful seeing you both again and we'll get there...one day! That is...if you continue to host it.
Have a few sips of wine for us!!

As we are unable to attend the Niagara Wine Escape rally Sept 13-15, a site is available. Call Riverside Park at 905 382 2204 for reservations. Site 55 under the Harry Potter Tree.
Sorry to miss you this year, Alf, Mrs Alf, Iowa Dave, the Szabos, Browns, Lew, Wendy, and Alfie! Next year!

Good morning Alf, Thanks for the heads-up about the opening. We will be on site 39 now. Just a quick note also, although site 86 is showing in the tent area, this site does have services, (15 amp).
