just purchased a used 2017 Parkliner 15
seller ran water and flushed toilet with city water hook up
noticed water drips out of bottom drain hole drilled in front right of trailer
Is this common or do I have a problem

I don't know Parkliners, but nothing should drip out when you flush the toilet.

Has it been raining recently? Helpful to know that.

Some rain earlier in the day but not heavy just a quick shower unit was not wet when viewed
Did not see any water drip until seller showed how to use things in camper

Parkliner was designed with a trough around the outside lower edge to catch condensate from the a/c floor mounted unit. It would stand to reason that if there was a leak elsewhere it would go to this low spot and drain out the weep hole as well.

Thank you for the help
I plan the winterize soon and can check to see if any pink rv antifreeze drips from hole and if so will know I have a leak somewhere
Or it was just the ac unit

Welcome Bill to the Parkliner family. Can't wait to hear about your adventures. Wondering if you had the air conditioner on when you saw the leak?

AC was not on
They flushed the toilet twice show the 2 flush cycles and turned on the hot water via the sink faucet
Sewer connection hose was not hooked up

Bill, when we bought ours very slightly used, we found a number of hoses either not tightened (like the shower connections in the coat closet), and also one of the hoses under the toilet/shower area had just been installed wrong. I forget if it leaked or not, but it had to either be replaced or fixed. The shower connections in the coat closet did leak - a lot!

Just check it out and see what you find, or take it to an RV place you trust and have them take a look. That weep hole you mention could have water from anywhere, but it usually from the A/C under the dinette seat. Some folks have had major water problems with there the designers put that A/C unit. We asked the company a few years ago if they would retrofit one to our roof. Nope.

Thanks for all the helpful info
I was thinking about waiting until the 2018 came out with the roof AC but thought just another leak in the future plus the price is jumping up to low 30’s from dealers
This one was loaded for much less
I am sure I have a learning curve but was happy to find a 2017

Bill,
While poking around our PL I noticed that the floor in the front closet has a false bottom. Aside from a great place to hide a safe my only guess for this is to provide access to the toilets plumbing. Since we do not have the toilet option in ours I can not say that for sure.
You may want to check yours to see if it is still like the 2014. If so you may see your leak.
Btw the French drains are on all four sides of the trailer and are independent of each other. It’s a pretty good chance that a leak on the front right side originated in that general vicinity.
Good luck!

You have really been a lot of help
This unit has the optional flush toilet
Might just add some rv antifreeze in toilet and flush to see if any come out of hole
I will also check connections in closet
I live in northeast GA mountains so time to winterize and will not get to use until spring
I plan to retire next summer and this was a purchase for use in future

I've got a 2012, bought used, that had a leak in the connections in the rear port side, around pump, tank outlet, etc. It leaked enough that the water went over to the starboard side and was dripping out onto the ground right behind tie. Every thing in those lowest areas was soaked and had standing water..
Took it to Parkliner - pre merger - and they tightened connections and drilled a hole to allow water to drip out if leak reoccured. It still leaks, and drips out. Very minor problem now but not a good solution. My shower does not leak. And I only have portajohn.

Sounds like either your freshwater tank, plumbing to and from it, and/or plumbing to your hot water tank. I never had good luck with any of the pre-merger idiots at the factory, and started taking mine to a local family-owned RV place. Problem solved. Ya get what ya pay for...

Best of luck to you!

Frank

Yup, and now I have no complaints Sid. Trailer is in great shape. We're lucky our AC never leaked inside and caused a problem though.

Also, I may replace the hot water tank with a gas/electric unit. Other than that. we're rollin.

Winterized it last weekend. Just removed the wheels and tires for the season yesterday, covered with our Calmark Sunbrella cover this morning and put it to bed for the season under it's custom carport.

Life is good, other than I need a truck!
