EBAY listing - salvage Casita

I just saw this - it says 2016 17' Independence but it looks like a 16' to me - http://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-Casita-...RZS-3R&vxp=mtr

That egg was doing the Humpty Dance a little too vigorously.

"Damaged - repairable". Yeah, maybe with a complete gut and rebuild. Bid at 4500 and reserve not met.

I love the phrase "we ran it through our shop". Having been involved in the sale of equipment, I know that means nothing at all. Just like the 100 point inspection, or everything has been "gone thru". The question always remains, did they fix anything?

Maybe they literally "ran it through our shop"!

It looks more like someone ran it into the shop.

But, no rust!

I hope that whoever is at $4,500 and counting understands what they are dealing with. Having never done much with fiberglass, I can confidently say that damage is way beyond my abilities.

It also has a curved door, I thought the 2016 Independence had a flat door???

Definitely a 16, even if this dealer says it measures to 17 ft.

Poor thing. Looks like it had quite a day.

You and me both, Mike! But if I could get it for a song (way less than their apparent reserve) and had the time, it might be cool to see if I could do it. A baptism by fire, if you will.

I've followed the thread on here where the U-Haul camper was badly smashed in the rear, and watched the owner's repair process with some measure of amazement.

In for a penny, in for a pound! I like it!

whoever bought this at this price is nuts the time involved and not having a clean title screws this thing up forever

It does come with bubble levels and a microwave ready package for that price.

And a bent frame and all that fiberglass work. I suppose in a Casita you'd have to pull the insulation off of the inner walls to get to it. All of that adhesive to get off - shudder.

It is neither an Independence nor a Standard nor a 17'. The large middle side window indicates it's either a Spirit or Freedom model, the lack of a front window means a Deluxe, and, as noted, the curved door indicates a 16' model.

And I agree. A winning bid of $4750 seems high given the extent of the damage and the lifelong taint of a salvage title.
