Ventura listed as "best offer takes"

http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/nvn/rvs/4879460862.html

A project but maybe a steal as well.

I wasn't able to grab pics as I was on my iphone but it was in very rough shape. Exterior painted poorly and the inside partially gutted.

And its back. It was a pretty rough paint job.

But a little sanding, scraping, priming, and fresh paint and it doesn't look too bad.

Interesting, yours has overhead storage above the front seating, my Ventura didn't, just the back. Looks a lot better after a bit of paint.

Welcome to the Forum Tyler. Great job on the resto! Glad it fell into some caring hands. Fitting "handle" as well.

Thanks Cathy and Mark!

The great thing about painting is it gives you time to putter on other things between coats. New floors, new door, new cushions, new wiring, repair a shattered roof vent, replacing front canopy plastic, and many other miscellaneous tasks.

Other than that the shell was in great shape under that awful paint job, no cracks or leaks. I still need to replace a couple pieces of glass and will not attempt to use the propane until I get someone who knows their stuff to check out all the lines.

For now it is clean, fresh and dry and I am looking forward to getting out in it.

David-----That is interesting that your Ventura didn't have storage over the front bench, maybe mine was added later to match the back end. I saw the pics of your restoration, the red and white looked great. You did a fantastic job with the T&G and cabinets, they looked awesome. Did you add the additional fold down counter space at the front, great idea.

Ya when I redid mine, I added the fold down counter to gain some counter space. Kind miss the old girl, The interior redo was my favorite part, loved seeing it come alive. I would like to do another one for a family member, just got to find a basket case.

I do miss the storage space under the seats, the casita is really lacking in that regard.

Hi there, it looks great what you did! I was wondering where you got a new door for yours as I need to replace mine. Thanks in advance!

Hi Will to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here. Do NOT trash whatever door you have. We may be able to help you do a rebuild. Frederick rebuilt the door on his "Boomerang." Maybe he'll step in to this thread and tell you how he did it!

Thanks Donna D! I bought my Ventura trailer from a friend last year. The lock on the door is broken. I had a locksmith come to check it out and he said its not fixable. I would have to buy the whole handle/lock unit because it just doesn't lock. I cant remember but it might have something to do with a pin? Yes, if someone can help me out...much appreciated. I'm so glad I found this site. Lots of goodies and helpful people. Thanks!!

If the door closes and latches, I'd call it a day.
The locks on any RV are flimsy at best, easily defeated by a cheap screwdriver.
