Largest gathering of ParkLiners in Florida

After a 600-mile trip, we arrived at Highlands Hammock State Park near Sebring, Florida on Sunday, Feb 15. It was after dark when we took a walk around the campground, and lo and behold, there was another ParkLiner!
I could hardly wait til the next day when we could meet the owners! It was great meeting Steve and Nancy, visiting each other's little homesteads, sharing stories around the campfire, and enjoying our ParkLiners. We happened to be leaving at the same time on Thursday, so we got this picture of the two PLs together. Hope we can meet up again. Rally time!

Your post was so cute. I was imagining tons of Parkliners!
I am sure it was very exciting though as I know when we go canping and see any brand of fiberglass camper in a sea of stickies we get excited. I would be beyond excited if I saw one of the rarer ones like a Parkliner, Lil Snoozy or Egg Camper,

Nancy was the one who came up with the catchy title. Looks like Mary and Bob spotted them at Jekyll. Wish we were still on the road!

What a great joy to meet others with the same love of travel and small fiberglass trailers. Ours, sadly, is pickled away for our long and dreadful winter. We will have our break out trip to Lonesboro MN to be with many other little fiberglass trailers.

I love it! "Largest gathering of Parkliners in Florida" What a hoot! Two of you!

I can't tell you how much I wish we could have been there with ours. We're experiencing the 5th coldest month since 1825 here, with tons of snow, and more on the way. 2 degrees when I took the puppy out this morning for his daily constitutional...

I wish you guys could've been there, too. We would have been nearly a herd. As for the weather, I wil never complain about being in Florida, but it was a little breezy for the kayaks (whitecaps on the lakes) and there were a couple of 30 degree mornings. And this was south of Frostproof!

One of these days Tammie, one of these days!

It's depressing to look at our trailer with at least a foot of snow still on top of it. Bah.

As I sit looking out at the snow coming down and a promise of freezing rain later today I am imagining being where you are Tammie. Frank my poor little PL is also sitting in snow just waiting for nice weather. Maybe next year I will take her to the warmer climes for a while in the winter…..I agree that a rally is in order.

That same weather is predicted to start here at 3 p.m. today Pat, changing to freezing rain overnight, and rain tomorrow, with maybe a high above 40.

I still need to finish up my plumbing project anyways. Winter caught me by surprise I guess. A full day should do it.

Take care,

Frank

Frank and Pat,
At least mine is in my pole barn so I can go inside and get a quick 'camper fix' once or twice a week. How do you guys handle the withdrawal!?!

Sid, my custom Calmark Sunbrella cover has a zippered door, so we can get in the trailer. It's just too bone numbing cold!

Sid, I am in the same situation as Frank. I have gone out and checked her when the weather isn't too cold but we have had such seriously cold weather I mostly just gaze longingly at her from my kitchen window.

Well, sadly, mine is parked outside, but this late summer we order our custom cover for future winters. We have been busy updating the inside of the house with new flooring, painting, and just updating the home. That has taken us through this winter, and spring is just days away now!

I really feel for you guys. I get the itch often, but have been blessed by living in Az. We went to the Scamp Camp in Sedona in Dec., Quartzsite gathering in early Feb., Buckskin State Park end of Feb, Desert camping with our 4wheel drive club this week, and again two weeks from then, Easter Jeep Safari a week prior to Easter in Moab Ut, then traveling the U.S. starting early May through Oct. Hope to meet some of our FGRV forum family along the way.
