Used Casita Buying Advice Needed

I am considering buying a 1995 Freedom Deluxe. It is listed on the classifieds on here. It sure looks like it is in good condition for the age. Buyer asking $7200. Can I get some opinions about older Casitas, or this one in particular, from more seasoned members. Thanks!

Have the owner show you how everything works and test everything to make sure it works.
Test floor for soft spots.
Make sure all outside taillights work .
Fill water tanks to see if they leak.

Fridges and hot water heaters are expensive make sure they work.
I don't know your budget but for a few thousand dollars more you could most likely get one ten years newer. Just something to consider. The older trailers seem to hit a certain price range and stay there it does look very nice in the pictures though.

As Kevin suggests!!
I would ask the owner before you go and see the trailer to have them start the fridge up on electrical to show that it can in fact cool down to a safe level by the time you get there as it can take several hours for the fridge to cool down. Then when there have then start it up on propane as well, assuming its a 3 way or 2 way fridge. If they don't have a propane tank take one with you! Same with starting the stove and the hot water tank on propane. You also want to see what is or is not working of battery power so if they seller tells you the battery is dead or doesnt have one take a charged one with you. Also take a meter with you to check when the trailer is plugged in that the convertor is actually working and changing. Run all the taps and flush the toilet.

Also look under the trailer! If you see any discolouration on the underside of the trailer thats a heads up there may well be a water leak inside the trailer at that spot. Open up all the hatches and cabinets and look inside at the floors to see if there are any signs of water damage. Take a good look at the trailers frame as well. Look at the tires for uneven tire wear.... could be a sign the axle is shot - same if there is little clearance around the tires.

If the trailer has an awning have the seller pull it out! Cant tell you how many people I know who have forgotten to do that only to discover the awning has some big issues the first time they pull it out.
