There's confusion around this, it seems. I was originally told that at #49 I had a 1968 because the first 100 bolers, flat tops, were manufactured in 1968 and they didn't change to add more space until 1969. However, some flat tops have a registration of 1969. I am wondering if this may be due to the year it was first purchased, not manufactured? As well, the first 40 bolers were recalled and fitted with insulation, so perhaps this was done in 1969? My belief is if you have a boler in the first 100 with a flat top, it would have been manufactured in 1968, but that's an amateur's assessment, for sure!

Hope to see all you flat top, weird-hinged bolers at the anniversary rally next year!

Just picked this one up. Not sure on the exact year but the frame is #180. I am guessing its a 1969.

1969 Flat top boler

Picked up two(2) bowlers last fall one flat top ,
which was used as a ice fishing shack !!!😳 both are rough shape BUT thanks to this thread found out we’re the serial # was # 162 so 1969 , the closet I was removed and small wood stove installed and hole thru roof for chimney 😔. , no sink , counter top , lights, furnace , basically gutted ,,,(by a redneck )
So now it’s still my ice fishing shack but camp trailer/hunt blind as well 😂😂😂
Pulls so easy behind my suv or quad ,

it should be on the door side near the propane tank mount on the top of the frame rail. probably covered in paint.
