Question Scamp at Goverment Auction

I was looking at an old thread that has me wondering... How often do Scamps appear on Gov Surplus sales/auctions?
My first experience with a Scamp was using a 13' morale trailer from the Sault Ste Marie CG Base.
I read here about a Marine morale trailer being restored, and three 16' bought at one time at a state auction in CA... Many commented they had seen/been to/or knew about the auction.
Are these worth looking into?

At first look it seemed like the ones offered at auction in Barstow, CA last year were not in great shape. And you have to haul them away as-is, where-is. As I recall there were about four Casita's offered over a period of several weeks.

Anyway, here is a link to the auction site that they were on. I get something from them 2-3 times a week, but haven't seen any more FGRV's.

Thanks Bob. I assume the 'something' you're getting is from their mailing list. Did you subscribe to vehicles, etc to get trailers? That is the closest thing I could see from the list.

It's been well over a year, but I would guess yes to vehicles.

We saw a couple government owned Casitas in a campground last year. The serviceman that was using one said they get beat up pretty fast once put into use.

M&B, Sadly, the idea of taking care of something like it's yours disappears in that environment.

The Navy recreation people here in the Pensacola area have tried having rental trailers a couple of times that I know of, but within a year or two they were trashed.

Probably one of the primary reasons that Uhaul got out of renting campers. A friend bought a new motor home about 20 years ago, partially for business use, partially because he had more money than brains and "it will pay for itself because the RV dealer will rent it out for me when I'm not using it". He learned real quick that renting it was not a good idea.
