I think Mimi Lee was right _ Deryk's backsplash post on ParkLiner's facebook page resulted in ParkLiner offering it as an option this year! Very cool!

Nice job Deryk,
I have never used self adhesive tile. It is an interesting pattern. I've seen glass tile used on Airstream renovations.
What kind of boat did you lose in Hur.Sandy? Do you have any pictures?

Hey Deryk I'm thinking of removing the insulation behind our stove and putting tile for a backsplash. I was going to install the tile right onto the fiberglass. Why did you use the backer board? Was it so that you didn't have to get rid of the ratfur, or is this something standard for tile backslashes?

Hi Jack... I didn't want to make permanent changes...just in case down the road I sell it. And was easy to make the board and could work in it at hone...I store my ParkLiner at my parents cause my complex has limited parking and too many kids vs a large driveway on a larger piece of property.

Since you completed your project, which looks 'AWESOME', have you had any problems with the tile coming off? We are looking at doing the same type of backsplash but our RV is stored most of the time. When I contacted Simple Mat they told me that it does not hold up to high heat? I asked what that meant and the answer was 90 degrees. Since we live in Florida I am concerned about the heat thing. Even though I would think that the heat from the stove would be higher than 90 degrees.
Thanks

And Jim N Ina, some of the problem could be because most of our all molded towables have curved walls, were your Gulf Stream has flat paneled walls? Different needs based on the build type.

Yeah (Knock on wood) They are stuck tight to the backer board I adhered them to. I am happy with the way it came out and have a few more projects I will be working on.

In my Bigfoot 21 I used ceramic tile and in a Bigfoot 19 I installed Glass Tiles. The glass tile was the hardest to do.
