Canadian dollar isn't at par. Hasn't been for a while now.
It's worth about 90 cents U.S.
May be headed for 86 cents U.S. making the Escape an even better deal for U.S. customers.

Apples to apples would be 13/13....16/16... and maybe(but not quite) 17/5er. Also Casita makes nothing like the Scamp Deluxe, which has more standard features than their Standard.
The 17 Casita is their most popular trailer, while the Scamp13 is theirs, both by some margin, and for good reason... 'cause some likes apples and some likes oranges!
As you say, they are both great trailers.

CDN dollar is at .922 today so that make's the Escape price of 21000 CDN about 19500US depending on your exchange rate at the bank.. Now do you feel like watching the currency exchange rates for a year.

You need a good spreadsheet to figure out the comparative values of a Scamp vs Casita but I'm the end they are close in cost.. But you need two buy the trailer that works for you

I may be wrong, but the 15B Escape does not include a side dinette w/bath.
The Scamp standard/dinette option package does, which makes it more right for me.
The 15A has the side dinette but does not include the bath. I wonder if anybody knows how much shipping cost would be to the NE states from the Escapes location

So I just called scamp to compare prices to my 1980 13'. (for insurance company purposes). One similar with a fridge, battery etc, ("standard Package") is 9995.00 as of today 7/9/14. Lead Times are into September 2014.

A few months back when I bought my old Scamp I called and got the price list & flyer and optioned mine out as if I bought it today. Made me feel a little better about what I paid plus all the work and money I am putting into the old one. Mine will sleep and tow as well as a new one and I will have 10K less in it. A new Deluxe sure would be nice though.
