'87 Bigfoot: Curious As To What This Might Be...

Hi folks;

We are just getting acquainted with our new-to-us '87 Bigfoot and had a newbie query for any 80s Bigfoot trailer owners out there:

This device/connection is wired in next to the front dinette on the left hand side, against the front wall. Wondering what it is! Any help would be much appreciated.

Also, does anyone know where manuals for appliances, furnace, etc can be obtained?

Click on more at the top navigation bar you will find a listing for documents and should find what you want there. Often appliances were in use over many years of builds some things never really change for a long time.

Can't help with the little thing you may have to follow it.

The little device you are looking at is a 12 volt plug-in socket. The red cap on it is to keep the dirt out of it when you are not using it.

I know you know the type of plug it is used for...those round kinds of plugs that fit into a cigarette lighter socket in your vehicle. It will be very handy for powering up your small electrical devices with that type of 12 volt plug fitting on them. You can usually get things like USB plugs on one end and that type of 12 volt plug on the other. A lot of cell phones also come with an automotive charging 12 volt plug. There are also a lot of rechargeable battery powered LED lanterns that could be powered by that socket.

I agree that it looks like a capped 12v cigarette lighter socket, although probably installed by a previous owner. I've never seen one like that as a factory install.

I have a 1986 15B17G.
There is very little documentation on Bigfoot.
I was told that the company's premises had burned in 2004, I believe, and that they had lost a lot of documentation in the fire.
They took the opportunity to remake new molds, larger, series 25B17.5G.
Members of long dates will be able to give you the history in details.

I have already contacted a manager at Bigfoot to get information about different items in my Bigfoot and he replied that when the trailer is delivered to a customer, the same customer may have made changes and you could be directed in a wrong direction ...

So, at that point, I understood that if I have questions, I analyze the problem myself, if I do not find a solution I question on this site, help with problems encountered and more

For propane I go to a specialist, I do not take luck with this item.

When I bought my Bigfoot 3 years ago, there was a propane detector but several years past the deadline, enough that the owner did not know the usefulness of this detector, to say that...

It is well to get a list of all the items to check and proceed step by step ...
