Hi Huck,
I think it's birch with a clear finish.

Whoops!
I meant maple.
Some earlier PL woodwork had a yellow tint. Now it's more tan.
We may build a cabinet forward of the dinette, using a sheet of prefinished maple.

That's why I'm asking. I'm trying to decide between adding a couple of shelves and a door or a combination of shelves and drawers.

Maybe the real question is "What kind of wood is used in MY Parkliner". As there are apparently some variations, it sounds like a trip to a local cabinet shop with one of the doors is in order.

I took a piece to Lowes and it looks more like pine than oak, birch, or beech, so I bought a small piece of pine to try out. I am going to make a shelf, so if the color is off it will be hidden most of the time. I also plan on making a cabinet door, so that needs to be a good match.
ETA: My trailer has the yellowish wood.

Mine (Nov 14) is birch marine ply with a water based clear finish. At some point they changed to water based finishes to reduce odors.

I don't think they keep those kind of records, but I may be wrong too. Give it a whirl.

Yep, give them a call or, better yet, send an email, I'm sure either will be responded to quickly

Our 04/2013 is also birch marine ply with clear varnish and is holding up well.
