beachcomber tongue box

I wanted more secure storage for my propane tank and battery. It is made out of 18 gauge stainless, with a 3/16 aluminum bottom . It was a little tricky matching the lines of the trailer, but I think it turned out fairly well.

Excellent job Willis.
I've been trying to come up with a similar solution.
Short of making my own FG mold to make (1) box.

They sure don't give us a lot of room on the tongue do they? I want to go with 6V golf cart batteries but where to put them. I am thinking of taking the TT to a welder to build a stacked arrangement.

Any chance you'd like to make another one of those and ship it out east?

Great job!

Thanks for the compliments. I could fit 2 6v battery's in this box easily, or another propane tank, but not both. I have left it with one tank, and one group 27 battery at the moment. I really have no idea what my usage will be when camping so I figure, start out light, add more later if necessary.

This took me 4 days after work to complete, plus materials. I could do it, yes.
But i'm afraid you would not like the price

Rats, I was hoping you'd say you did it with two pieces of angle iron and a large plastic hammer.

I was expecting that it was done with tools that mere mortals possess. Now I don't feel bad about not having built anything like this!

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Very classy job!

I've been thinking of making a tongue box. After seeing what you have done here I threw those plans away.

Haha... we could negotiate. Need any decals? I've got a vinyl cutter that loves to earn its keep.

I'm thinking the second and third ones would be easier and quicker, so the price should drop due to economies of scale!!

I completely agree with this.....but, the main problem I have is time. I took holidays this week to get the trailer camp-able. My To-Do list seems to be getting longer as I work, How does this happen?

Nice work, add me to the list of potential customers once you get that economy of scale worked out.

X3(or is it 4?) That is a beautiful box and appears very functional. I have not been satisfied with what I have found commercially.

If we can't hit economy of scale, do you think it would be possible for ourselves to make one with the ultra economy version?
