I've got a big learning curve with this trailer stuff! I've got a corolla with a max towing weight of 1500 lbs. According to the specs I've seen, I might be a bit ambitious about my trailer fantasy. I'm wondering if you know the total weight fully loaded for travel. Thanks!

Although I have seen a Volkswagen Jetta tow a Boler. I'am not sure if a corrola would do the trick.I think you would be maxed out.Especially living in a area with mountain passes to deal with.
I used a nissan pathfinder.I sure there are others here that might shed more light on this subject.

Hi Carolyn,

Generally a loaded 13' trailer is pushing 1500lbs. In Europe small cars have higher towing capacity then here but they don't have the distances .. or the Rockys'.

Many members agree that you shouldn't be right at your max towing capacity, a 20-25% extra capacity is nice to have.

Saying that, there are members who tow with Rav4's / CRV's and Elements all of which have 1500lb limits. Those vehicles all weigh more that yours though and it's the stopping of the trailer that's probably going to be an issue. Does you manual mention if trailer brakes are required at 1000lbs?
