U-Haul converter problem

The converter is original to my 86 CT-13. Converter works ok on 110V but will not work properly on 12V. One light comes on bright but get very dim when another separate light is turned on. New deep cycle battery was installed and fully charged....Is it time for a new converter unit and what do you recommend ?

At almost 30 years of age, it is a good time to think about a whole new power chassis. A Progressive Dynamics PD-4045 is an excellent choice, it has AC distribution, a 45 amp converter, 12 Fused outputs for DC accessories and a 3 stage smart battery charger.

I have installed about 7 of them in customers, as well as my own RV's, without problems. Less than $200 online.

Replaced mine with a PD4045, the original would discharge the battery.

In the past I've had 2 convertors die.
I just ran the 12v from the battery.
Spent $45.00 on a good battery charger.

My slide in camper and Scamp have solar and a separate 110v circuit.

You can do a Solar Installation for less than a good convertor unless your planning on running a micro wave or an electric blanket.
