Escape 5.0

We put a deposit on a 5.0 Escape but what a complete hassel to get a hitch put on a truck What trucks have had the 5.0 escape please let me know . All the new trucks are 54-56 in. above the ground top of the bed I think that I would be scraping the fiberglass on every bump . I looked at Nissan very very very hard to get a long bed 4 door .
I would hate to buy a new truck and have the warranty not honered because one must drill into frame to set up the frame brackets that hold the brackets that hold the 5th wheel hitch .What a complete nightmare . I've talked to Alf with his nissan and have seen his setup pretty neat . I'm thinking of just looking for a 19 ft escape and be done with it .

I bought a brand new 2014 Ford F-150 last year, it had exactly 360 miles on it when I had ETI mount the hitch (actually a company up the road from ETI). I had already spoken to the Ford dealer, they knew why I was buying the truck and what I was going to be towing. It did not nor will not void the warranty.

The pin box for the fifth wheel is adjustable and so is the hitch itself. Even though I own a 5.0TA, I have a good foot of clearance between the loft and the bedrails and my truck is a 4x4.

You may get more and better answers to your questions on the EscapeForum about your concerns as there are more owners there.

AND, if you want a similar layout to the 5.0TA, it's the 21' you should look at...
