Complete lil Bigfoot reno
Hi guys, It's been a while. I have finally found time to tackle this project. My 1989 lil Bigfoot is stripped to bare shell. Working on paint body job and powder coating frame right now. Stay tuned for more progress as I go. Cheers
How to attach photos here again? Thanks

Do you have the manual for the Lil Bigfoot? If not, I have one. Mine is a 1988.

And whole shell shoot. Whole body work and painting process took me 3 weeks almost everyday with some major interlux kote primer drying problems and countless hours of sanding. But in the end it was worth it. Super stoked with the outcome.

This looks stunning. What was the condition like before you started the reno? Do you have any before photos?
What are your plans for the interior?

I also managed to rebuild brakes and axel. Frame, drums and brakes sandblasted and repainted. Frame is powder coated but axel since there is a rubber had to be painted with brush. FYI axel is bolted on and spot welded so I had to cut it off and now weld back.

Stay tuned for interior. I'm going full euro look on this one with corian, interactive LED in custom upper cabinets, rounded 8'' sink with ,,real,, faucet. curved base cabinets, teak floor, list goes on... Pretty much I blasted 8 K on materials at this point. Will be posting here soon. This week I am putting tinted frameless windows in as a replacement for old sliders. Here is a shot of new LED tail lights. Cant decide if I want white lend on the inside or out. Most trailers have it on inside but i kinda like it on the outside.

Oh yeah that is a water heater for my outdoor shower and sink. New vents for larger 3way fridge. Heater is same size and place.

Trailer was in very good condition with original interior that I still have as a templates for some new cabinets and cushions. I just always wanted to make it super nice inside from the day i got it. Exterior was in good shape but last owners did poor job on using sealant that took hours to get off and doors where cracking a bit. Also there was lots of rock chips on front and some cracks and missing gelcoat that you would expect after 27 years. I did spend 2 full summers camping in it before I made my plans how do i want it for my needs to make it both practical and good looking.

I'm noticing that my bumper on my LB appears to have separated a bit in the past. It looks like the seam may have been re-sealed and painted over. Can you tell if the bumper is in one piece with the shell, or was it applied after?
I do wish there were an exterior, metal type bumper attached to the frame. I can't see that this setup offers much protection.

Bumper is made from fiberglass and it's riveted to the body for sure. Ha, frame is not that solid on this one so on stronger impact you sure would have to take shell off from frame to fix it. I am modifying my frame to install water tank under the trailer with 20 Gal. I will put 2 more braces. Also I was toying with an idea of adding hitch for Stowayay 2 in the future.

Thanks for the info! Since it is riveted to the shell is there supposed to be a visible seam? Or when it was built was it sealed with fiberglass, or something else?
