Storage solution for my city Boler

We live on an eighth of an acre in Los Angeles. The driveway runs all the way to the garage in the back, but the new (to us) Boler meant we couldn't even get the trash cans down to the curb without moving the camper.

It was a crazy enough situation that I came up with a crazy solution.

And then I made a video with my daughter to show what I came up with. So get some popcorn, and I hope you enjoy. I apologize in advance for my acting skills.

Fairly clever solution, kudos.

Do you have a mechanical lock of some sort (pins) or is the load stored on the cables?

That's actually a common method to have double car parking in Japan for the larger cities.

That's amazing! We also have double-parking at many lots in San Francisco.

Thanks.

Yes, the aircraft cable only supports the load while it's moving up or down. When it's in the up position, there is a 6" pin at each corner.

I hadn't thought of it, but it is something like those double parking things.

My conceptual model in building it was a boat lift.

nice solution but I would have to have it higher than 7 ft to get my van under.

That is quite a normal solution here in the city (Toronto) where people have multiple cars on small lots.

I love your tow vehicle, I hope that it is strong enough to pull the trailer.

I am looking for a MB e420 wagon to replace the van. I have a Porsche 924 but don't think the hitch is strong enough for my T4500.

You can never have enough toys!
