Painting my outside of ventura camper

I'm preping to do outside work this year ,top half camper I'm using elastomeric paint to fill spider cracks (I'll roll this on lower I been told to spray)
But lower I want to paint teal,my friend used a high grade exterior paint (aurua if i spelled right )and its held up great on her boler ..but I see lots use some kind enamel paint ?!also seen plastic cushion paint but that should take so many cans, Is there any issues with paint I'm looking at? And should I do a primer friend doesn't rember if they did
Thanks in advance !!

Kim I would suggest you use interlux topside which you can find at most marine supply stores. It is specially formulated for fiberglass and can be spray, rolled, brushed on with very good results . Most other other paint other than auto paint will suffer uv degradation and will dull after a short time especially on fiberglass.there are many threads here on the use of topside .the one problem with topside is the limited colors available but you can increase that by mixing different colors . 1 quart of there stock blue and and 1/4 quart of there stock green will get you a nice teal color..

I just finished with interlux brightside. Great paint with great results if it is prepared with correct primer. I found that a two person team doing it is much easier than one.

Painting with auto paints

I just painted my boler with paint from auto paint specialist in Burien Washington. I found someone who would mask and spray it for me. The paint was about $200. Primer would be another $175. I would recommend both. It looks real pretty! Pictures soon

After sanding, filling and sanding again, then applying a primer, I'd suggest using high quality paint that is used on fiberglass boats. Your local Marine Supply store will be able to advise you on all the steps and materials you will need. The paint should have some UV protective qualities as it will be in the sun most of the time and the colour might fade.

Happy Trails,
