Hey Kevin Cool!
This could be a real good deal for someone out there!
I am looking maybe to buy, fix, and sell an older casita not far from you. Do you ever get to Michigan for camping. What are some of the HOT spots in your area you like to camp at?

Thanks!

They have found a clever way to get around the bubbly corners.

I can have a look at this one if anyone is seriously interested. Yucca valley is "Reasonably" close to me and I was thinking of camping out at Joshua tree this weekend anyway. It's kind on the way.

Kevin,
Thanks. Those look excellent! I will have to take my wife and son there in the near future. Our jewel in the rough is Ludington State Park on Lake Michigan. It's ranked as the #1 Michigan State Campground. They are always full too. We manage to get there 3-4 times a year via cancellations only. Happy Camping

The Fiber Stream Company began making trailers in 1975 and went out of business in 1986. The early units had:
  • Duette combo range-heater
  • paneling on partition walls only, not the shell
  • battery box access in front
Later trailers had a regular range and a separate heater, paneling on all interior surfaces, moved the battery box access to the side, and also used upward hinged cupboard doors instead of sliders.

I am guessing that this would be a 1980. The range is NOT a Duette, the battery box access is NOT on the side, but all interior surfaces ARE paneled; just not curved at the corners like later vintages I've seen.

That's a GREAT B.I.N. price! Only $300 more than what I paid for mine in 2004.

I don't think the Paneling on this one is original.
I have seen several and this looks home brewed to me.
The two styles I have seen are like yours with the Fiberglass walls and like mine with a thin luan type paneling with 80's Faux-wood vinyl .
In the later ones I have not seen one without overhead cabinets all around the sleeping area and I bet they were removed for some reason and the panels installed.

I certainly do not know for sure though.

What I do know is that this seems like a good deal for someone and easily worked with and improved.

I think you've called it correctly.

That range looks very similar to mine with the exception of not being a Duette. It is older than 1982 for sure.

Well, all, I bought it on the strength of your recommendations! I've been lurking for several months on this site, learning about your fiberglass friends. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there are no surprises in store for me on this purchase that I can't handle. I'm excited, and thank you all for your great advocacy of lightweight trailers. I look forward to joining your ranks!

CONGRATULATIONS LINDA! I see from reading the ad, there's a bit of stuff going on with the title, etc. You know in Oregon you MUST have a title to register the trailer... and you DO WANT to register it. Don't let the seller jack you around... like "I'll get the title to you later." Later is always tomorrow and tomorrow never comes.

Actually from reading the posting on eBay, I feel confident the seller is one of the good guys and I don't suppose you're going to have any problems.... just wanted to give you a bit of a reminder.

Post pictures as soon as you can.

And once again. CONGRATS!

Good buy Linda. Congratulations.

Donna gave very good advice on the title situation.

You're going to have a great time, and there are good fiberstream owners here to resource with.

CONGRATULATIONS LINDA!

I agree with Donna. With this being a California trailer, the owner may try to do a PTI "registration" and skip the "optional" title. Make sure you insist on receiving a California title so you will have no problems in Oregon.

Hi Linda,
I am glad my eagle eye spoted this beauty for you. Ed Harris above did a lot of interesting updates to his Trillium before selling it and buying a Fiberstream. You may want to contact him after you pick up your Fiberstream. They are very interesting looking, very cool lay out with that KING size bed to boot! I owned 3 Trilliums last year and sold 2 on Ebay last year. This guy seems to be on the up & up. Good Luck. Drive carefully bringing her home

Hey Linda! Congrats.

When will you be picking it up?

I am about to kinda sorta schedule dates for the second annual Spring Spiff up Rally, which will be on your way from Oregon..

Maybe we can work around your getting it and we all can have our 2 cents worth of help.

Lytle Creek, Ca. Dates TBD.

This looks exactly like the Fiberstream I looked at in San Diego which sold from this site a few weeks ago. It has the same modified toilet positioning. There was a lot to do.

What modified positioning are you referring to?
The Poopers in every Fiberstream I have seen are exactly like the one in the Ebay listing.

Linda

Congrats from me as well!!!!!

I think it was a good deal from the look of it in the Photos.

There is not a lot that can not be fixed on these, and fairly easily too.
This one looks straight to me although as I said before,I have not seen an interior like this one at least from the bed area.

I really like the Fiberstream as they feel much more roomy inside to me and there is good stand-up height too.

You are gonna have some fun!
