Chit chat of a stripped down oliver in the pipeline to arrive at a 20 something price point in their forum. No official word or specs from the company yet.

I saw them at the RV show last month here in LA. They told me base price started at $30,000 and went up from that.

Frankly, I was suprised at the price. Although they are nice, I could buy a new 17' Safari Sport Airstream for around $27,000.

Maybe they are realizing their pricing was too high?

But, but, but... it wouldn't be molded fiberglass!

Yes, it would be aluminum. Probably the only thing better than molded fiberglass.

Ouch! I can't believe you said that Jake.

Well, yes, I can =). Bought a little aluminum utility trailer to complement the Trillium - 2 trailer family.

Jake, I had Airstreams for over twenty years... the last being a 34' tri-axle. I now have a Bigfoot. Any questions?

The Oliver in question based on the topic is the new "Sport" model. For those that want the quality of the Oliver, with less options on it. It's a 17 footer. I've found it will be available for viewing at Quartzite in January.

Ya got me there, Donna!

Ok, don't pile on me guys - I thought the Oliver was very nice. I'm just sayin' when I was at the RV show and heard that price I was very suprised that it was more than a 17' Airstream, which seems to be a direct competitor in size/weight, and I certainly wouldn't discount the quality of the AS - it was a beautiful trailer.

I remember when Oliver first came out I got a brochure and the stripped down model was 19 grand or 17? I forget. I thought hey, that's pretty good but that disappeared real quickly due to inflation. I can understand the overhead them being a new company and all. I sure wish they could come back to that price point again some day. Low 20’s is still kind of high for my checkbook. I guess a spec sheet will tell the tale on what you get.

On the Oliver forum, the Oliver road team has posted their location at Quartzite as the "Desert Gardens". I think they arrived yesterday with the new Sport 17 and the Legacy Elite II (the new 22 footer). They also have the original red trailer with them, four in all, if any of you at Quartzite are interested in taking a peek. I haven't seen a spec sheet or pricing yet on either of the new Oliver models, sorry. I've just seen some photos.
I understand that the Sport 17 will have a steel frame, but same double hulled body, and more standardized packages of options to keep manufacturing costs down some. The 22 highlights I've heard are aluminum frame, tandem axle, double hull, increased interior height, king bed, some storage accessible from the outside, plus a second closet or pantry inside.

We saw the Oliver trailer in Quartzsite last weekend. Here's some outside pics of the new 21 foot trailer:

Here are some inside shots. I really like the quality of the Oliver, but I still feel the same way about their interior decorating. The Sport model (next post) has upgraded Casitawood type doors and I would much rather have them than the mirror shower door look on every storage cabinet in the trailer.

Nice looking trailer. I haven't looked at any of their brochures since they first appeared.

Rob - I didn't discuss pricing with the sales staff. They didn't offer a price sheet, only a brochure. There were lots of looky-loos there and being that I'm not really interested, I didn't want to waste their time. The one guy that we spoke with seemed very anxious to get an order. This economic condition has hit everybody, but I'm sure that Oliver will weather the storm because this is not their only business. They do make a very nice product.

Thanks,
I was just curious also, I read on another site that it would be around $40K, just wanted to know if that was correct ( out of curiosity)

David and Pam are here in Quartzsite with 4 Olivers for inspection. The new brochures with the specifications price lists and options are being hand delivered tomorrow (Friday -January 16th) by Jim and Evon Oliver. Stop by and meet us- we will learn together!
We are in the "Desert Gardens"
Great pictures of the units....anyone willing to offer any computer help would be gladly accepted...Pictures "bamboozle me!"

I don't get it! I look at the interior photos (of the OPliver 20ft) and it looks like the exact same layout as my 17ft Spirit Deluxe Casita (2004). Where is the added footage? You end up with what...a longer "hallway"? Help me here! Not that I would spend $30,000 on this but where is the advantage to having more weight and longer outside and dual axels? Happy Trails!
