Help with trillium exterior!

I have a 1975 trillium 1300 with the standard beige gelcote exterior. I have been doing a lot of web surfing and cannot come to a complete decision on what to do with the exterior, so maybe you guys can give me some advice. I know there is no bringing the original gelcote back to a shiny finish, I tried on a test spot and was unsuccessful. The overall outside looks ok, so I was thinking about just applying the zep wet look floor finish over it to make it look shiney, but I know that will magnify any and all imperfections, OR should I paint it then gloss. I know there really is no coming back from the decision I make so I want to be positive before I start, what would you guys suggest?

Wetsand the entire trailer with 600 -800 grit sandpaper ,touch up spots that can't be removed with as close to color as you can get ,then use zep sealer and finish with zep high gloss and it will turn out beautifully. Don't paint unless absolutely nessasary or you want a different color .

Matt, you can go back. Zep floor finish can be removed with Zep floor wax stripper. I read once on a posting from a long time ago, that the car wash setting for engine cleaner will also remove the Zep.

Zep Wet Look strips off easy. Give that a try first. Be sure your trailer is CLEAN first though.

Doh - you beat me too it kootenaigirl, lol.

The fibreglass certainly can be brought back to life! However it takes a lot of work with the right tools to get the oxidation off and a nice shine back. Any of these miracle coatings or floor polishes will give a temporary improvement but they don't remove the underlying oxidation.

Thank you for your replies, I knew you could strip the floor finish but I didn't know if the stripper would be too harsh on the surface, but you all have pretty much made up my mind, I will wets and it and then apply the zep over the gel coat providing I don't burn through it lol.
