SOLD: 1988 Casita Patriot Deluxe (13") in Portland, OR $5000

Hi, all.

I've just made the decision to sell my beloved 1988 Casita Patriot Deluxe. Before I get her sale-ready (general housecleaning, exterior, and minor repairs) I wanted to post her here for my forum friends, and for those who are familiar with these little gems.

Photos of this trailer are available in my gallery.

She needs to be registered, but I do have title in hand. She also needs minor repairs to the water-line, though I may actually have that fixed in the next few days.

The previous owner replaced all interior doors and painted them flat white. I have removed the cabinet door over the fridge (which works great, by the way) and will replace it after re-painting and upgrading the hinges.

She has shelves under the kitchen sink, and a lipped shelf and extra outlet in the cabinet above the fridge (for microwave, etc).

All her upholstery is in excellent condition. Non-smoker.

She has a kitchen sink AND a bathroom sink!

Awning in excellent condition; her carpet could use cleaning but is intact.

Interior lights have been replaced with warm LED bayonets!

Everything works except the issue mentioned above.
Upgraded her converter, and it needs to be built out around the space where it sits. (Minor carpentry experience required).

Asking $5000, but will come down A BIT if above minor repairs will be done by buyer. I'm a bit short on time due to an ill family member. This is a fantastic little trailer, my "Girl Cave," and my baby...but my situation requires I let her go so I can eventually get a larger, more family-friendly fiberglass rig, as much as I would have liked to keep her as my escape pod!

Casita

Where can I find the gallery pictures? I'm sure it's obvious - I just can't find it. I'm new on the forum but would love to view this casita. Thanks!

Hi!

Sorry, I had issues posting the past couple days because I had to verify a new e-mail address for the forum.

Here's the link to this trailer in the Registry!

Hi- new here also, would love to see pics...maybe I can google a floor layout. I am in the market this week as I have sublet my apt for a southerly cross-country sojourn. After looking at variety of options, want to tow something small behind my RAV4 - this will work with casita, right?
thanks, Chaka

I've been asked about the weights. I'll be honest with you I don't have them on hand, but I doubt any of the mods have added more than 20lb (two shelves, upgraded doors) to the base weights...which should be found in any of the Weigh-In threads for Patriot Deluxe 13's. I'll link to these resources later today.

I would highly recommend that anyone who is seriously interested in this trailer do their own research into what their small SUVs/wagons can pull. And understand that what a car dealer tells you isn't exactly what the car can SAFELY pull.

And, of course, many threads on here will tell you that a trailer manufacturer's stated weights aren't always what the dry weight is....plus when you begin to pack up your Egg, you'll find they can get heavy fast.

I posted this trailer here before listing her on CL because I'm afraid that this week, I'm too busy to answer general fiberglass trailer questions. Sorry, don't mean to be rude, but my Mom is post-surgery, and I'm runnin' ragged.

I'll get to PMs as soon as I can! Thanks for your interest.

She's still for sale; I haven't listed her on Craigslist yet, since I haven't had time to power wash the shell and unpack my personal belongings from her.

After early October, I'd be able to deliver for a reasonable distance in the NW area, possibly further south/southeast. Early October, I'm headed to Coachella Valley, and can deliver there.

Feel free to PM me with specific questions about this particular trailer.

For NOG peeps, she was at the Stub Stewart meet a few years back, right after I picked her up. A few people saw her then, as we were on a different loop from the main gang.

Happy Hunting!

Greetings - We are across the river from you and would like to see your egg, as for now we are eggless and wannabes. If you are available this weekend ( 9/26/13 ) we would love to come over and see your Casita. We haven't written a introduction note yet and are not sure how making a connection works but hopefully we can hook up.

Hello I was wondering if your trailer is still available and was wondering around how much it weighs? I have been trying to look up weights online but can't find anything for this year. Thank you!

Hi! I don't know the exact dry weight. I am going to see if I can get it on a scale this coming week if the party with "dibs" doesn't buy her. (I will be posting her on Craigslist Sunday night).

It can be towed by many smaller SUVs but I happen to drive a 2002 Frontier V6 and it pulls like air. I personally am not a fan of "just barely" when it comes to tow vehicles.

No breaks on this baby, but I'd recommend installing them for smaller TVs.

Interior height is about 6'. That's a guess. I'm 5'10 and in work shoes I don't hit the ceiling but my 6' bf can stand, head touching.

If you pay my asking price I'm throwing in a cover and a Fantastic Fan...also chocks and stabilizer jacks and a few other goodies.

Hi!

I'm very interested in your trailer if it's available. I'm not sure how I missed your post when it first came out -- I've been looking for a few months now. I could come and look tomorrow anytime.

I'm new to the forum and haven't figured out how to PM you.

Thanks!

Anne

Trailer had a going-over by an RV specialist who verified that the water and propane lines and appliances are in great shape; found a small leak in water line to toilet (easy fix gasket). Fridge systems work great, and as of tonight the leak by tje water heater is fixed.

Current interested buyer will let me know tonight if she's taking it. If not, I will finally put it on Craigslist...sans Fantastic Fan and a few other extras I'll save for my next egg!
