I have finished up many details on the Trailer.

I picked up LED tail lights at Princess auto, gave up on waiting for them to go on Sale.

Used silicone remover to take the silicone off the red paint. Without it the silicone was pulling the paint off.

Build a hinged lid to cover the storage above the fridge in the counter.

Added a 12 volt fuse box from an old camper, soldered a coupe usb ports to a wire and installed them. Also wired in the LED light above the counter and a switch to turn on the fans going in the vent.

Installed the lock strip around the windows. The first couple attempts failed, but with enough lube it was fairly easy.

I peeled the sticky tiles off the backsplash and put more counter top material up.

All three tires where replaced.

The floor got wood trim, along with the roof vent and step.

The trailer got undercoated (the dirtiest and worst part of the whole project)

I trimmed up the fridge.

Glued any loose parts of the cushions with Speed sew to complete the no sewing cushions for the bunks.

Cleaned up the hookups and reinstalled on the outside of the trailer. I also cleaned up a few other details, bringing the total days up to 23 to complete the project.

When you reinstalled your windows, what is involved with the tape? One post on another site says you just unscrew the metal inside and out and the window pops right out. Hmmmmm. What about putting it back in?

Hi Linda,

Which Window are you referring to?

The side windows I drilled out the rivets and pushed them out (with someone there to catch them). I then cleaned them up, used butyl tape to seal them and riveted them back on.

The front and back plexi glass windows have a rubber seal and a lock strip, no screws or rivets.

Bolers/Scamps/Casita windows are mounted differently than Burro/Trillum (other brands). It may be best to search for Burro solutions....

How did you apply the exterior paint

It's looks as though you had the exterior painted in a shop. What did you use to apply the white and the red? Compressor and spray gun? What was the brand of the paint and the rubber paint also? Huge thanks for the info.

The bottom red was painted already. It looks like a professional job and was done 20 years ago.

Last year I sprayed the top of our green Boler, I had leftover white paint. This time I used an ultra smooth roller and rollered the white paint on. The spray did a slightly smoother job, but you have to get up and really look to notice the difference.

Having done both, spraying was much easier than I thought it would have been, but rolling turned out well, costs less, makes less of a mess. I would roll next time. I would use an ultra smooth roller (I picked up at home depot), and use a new roller for each coat.

At the bottom of this page you can see the paint I used. http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...d-57935-7.html
I purchased them from a plastic supply store. When I was spraying I had to dilute them, when rolling I could skip that step.

Now that you have two bolers, what will you be doing with your extra one?

Sadly I could find no reason to keep two, so we sold the red one. Although I do plan to start looking this summer for another project. My favorite is the green one, as it has been modified to fit us (has a toilet), and was the first. The red one was more what they were. As a family we discussed at length to decide

I posted a thread with the details of the other build at
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ild-57935.html

Interior Question

Thanks for the great post on your project. I am currently in the dismantling phase of my fiberglass project. Looking at your pictures and reading the thread I can't figure out what you did for your interior walls? Did you insulate it at all or did you just sand and paint the fiberglass? Sorry if I missed this somewhere along the way. Trying to decide what to do on my project.

Thanks again.

On this trailer it already had ensolite, so I cleaned and repainted that.

My other Boler I removed the ensolite as it was mold and gross behind, and used reflectix, a product you can get from any home improvement store, then on top of that I put indoor/outdoor carpet. It's the green boler on my site OurBoler, Family Outdoor Adventures

I have heard if you leave it as just fiberglass you can have condensation issues, although I have never tried it.

I have a 1974 Boler I'm in the process of renovating. The ensolite is in fairly good condition but showing its age. I've read on this great website that removing the ensolite is a big job and best left in place. Has anyone just left the ensolite in place and glued headliner to the surface? My concern is whether or not glue will adhere to the painted ensolite that I have. The ensolite in my Boler is well glued to the fiberglass. I'm interested in gluing headliner for esthetics only.

Sorry for asking a question on such an old thread, and about a Boler you no longer have... What paint did you use on the cabinets?

I went to Rona and got paint meant for out door furniture. Since moisture can build up I wanted something that could handle water. I use a multi purpose primer to make sure it sticks well.

Have fun with your project, I hope to find another project soon
