$7500 off new Parkliner

I went to the Tampa RV Show today and the Parkliner was on display. There have been a few changes to the trailer since I last saw one. The water heater was moved under the front side seat where the A/C used to be. The microwave shelf is molded into the cabinet unit, no more wood shelf. The front closet has a fiberglass bulkhead and door. The sink and stove is one stainless steel unit and the bath has a mirror doors. It also has a rear outside side cargo access panel on the door/curb side. I forgot to see if the door hinges have been changed. List price $37,500. Show special price $30,000. My figures may not be exact but close.

The base price was $17k last June. How would you feel if you bought one at the new price and then found out the old price?

The base price on the Parkliners are very stripped down versions. No fridge, no toilet, no stove, etc. All the normal amenities are extra cost. I assume the trailer taken to an RV show was probably a fully tricked out model, so comparing it to a stripped down base price isn't apples to apples.

But I agree, WAY overpriced for a small trailer like that.

True Lyle..but keep in mind, the price I show doesnt even include the $7500 discount!

If that price quote is correct it puts it well above the Escape 17B I have on order with almost every available option.

And you get the exchange rate advantage, unless you included that factor in your comparison.

The base price went up to $19,900 last July.

No matter how you look at it , going from $19,900 to $37,500 is a 90% price increase . Even at the discounted price of $30,000 , it still translates into a price increase of over 50%.
You can purchase a nicely equipped Escape 21 for less than $37,500 USD
A 15 ft Parkliner now cost's $2500 a ft.
It may be a FG trailer but it ain't no bargain !.
IMHO , they will either have to lower their price or they will go out of business. There are too many good FG alternatives to compete at that price point

There's another post from someone who was at a the Tampa show. Said the new Parkliner was double hulled and had an access panel, and a few other upgrades. Sounds like they are similar to Oliver which is priced close to. $50K.

About $24k was what it cost with most options.

Now its double hulled, double insulated= no more rat hair!!! Watched a guy do chin ups from the upper storage compartments- FULL BODY CHIN UPS! All storage compartments and walls are chemically bonded to the hull.( I havent heard of them before so really dont know if this is new or not.)
The range and sink are Supposed to be replaced soon with flush mount appliances.

That's always been true. Chandler demonstrated the cabinet chin ups for me in 2012.

I also seen it at the Tampa Show, it was a very nice looking unit and had a very clean look without the carpeting on the wall and ceiling. No rivets and it seemed very spacious. For some reason I felt that it had a bigger feel than our 17 ft Spirit had. The price seemed a bit over the top though. It was getting a lot of attention at the show, have to see what happens though as they did indicate that they were selling them through dealers now and not factory.

Time will tell as if that price will sustain itself. It is possible though they were not charging enough when they started to make the profit necessary to sustain the business, thus the base price increases, then they inflated that I am sure to cover dealer profits too. Happens a lot with small companies and startups. Overall I think it is a well built trailer from what I saw at last years Eggs on the Hiawassee Rally (that's coming up again by the way). Unfortunately that is still a lot of $$$ for a small trailer, but like others have said, it is probably worth it for a unit that will hold its value well as compared to a stickie. If we had the $$$ to buy one without financing I would've got one before the price increase, now its not likely anything in the foreseeable future.

So where is the AC now? I love my Parkliner but never feel like it cools as much as I would like it. I am sure glad I got mine when I did.
