This just goes to prove that if you wait long enough, then finally buy a trailer, making a 1,000 mile round trip, and start the re-build, within a month another one will be available closer to home!
1973 Love Bug, same as Scamp. Rebuilt two years ago. $3000.
Mr Hamilton....I live in florida and I recently found a "love bug" at a local KOA but the guy won't come off it. He is currently using it as a storage shed while he lives in a 77 dodge motorhome. I have offered to buy him a shed and then give him $1500 for the camper. Is it worth the aggrivation? The reason I want it so badly is because I am an Volkswagon rebuilder and I have 5 of them. One of them is a 1978 bus and I think that this thing would be the absolute perfect camper for my wife debra and I to see the country after our 4th child goes into the Army like his 2 brothers and one sister. The Daughter and second son leave in June and July when they graduate high school and the first son is curently in Korea. Being a V-Dub nut and being that this is called "love Bug" I have to have it could you send me pictures of the interior of the one that you have?. My wife and I would love to see that....thank you for you patience and response...Joe and Debra Diaz
I have a 13' Casita that my wife and i enjoy very much. My friend fixed this one up to travel with us, but then decided he wanted a bigger one. Now his rig is to big to keep up or go where we want to go. Some times we go through the drive thru a McDonalds. Hope you enjoy the pictures i sent.
