If it's permitted, here's a link to the original owners thread about the trailer over on the Escape forum.

The pictures look pretty good .I wonder where the damage was if there is mold in the wood and can it be remedied?
We Own a new 21 Escape and are not interested but for someone this might work out.Things to look for would be mold /rot wood frame and paneling. Also one would have to make sure the wiring was still ok ? The frame how badly is it rusted ? These are all questions the new owner would have to look for .It is being sold AS IS so buyer be ware . Good Luck

The ad says "sold with a bill of sale" which indicates no title.

One would have to buy and register in a
State that does not require titles ?

I hope any potential buyer gets to read the linked account of what happened with this trailer. That's a hugely optimistic asking price. Might be a nice project for a really handy person at about 1/3 what they are asking.

Actually, that is a great price given the trailer and the year. It certainly will require a bit of work to remove, clean and replace water damaged areas, but given it is a $40,000 CAD trailer it might be worth it to get near the asking price, which I assume was negotiable.

There may be something unique about the construction of the Escape, but I can tell you that if wood or insulation or particle board gets wet, it's highly unlikely to just dry w/o future issues. We went through several hurricanes in FL and learned that houses that get wet inside have to be stripped to the studs immediately. If they sit awhile, then the framing also has to be replaced. This trailer was totaled. Any wood that was under water will have to be removed. Any absorbent insulation will have to be uncovered and removed. Any wiring connection that was under water will have to be accessed and cleaned. It's a daunting task that few folks would have patience and skill to complete. It would be interesting to follow this trailer, see how it pans out.

Reading this reminds me of the Escape 19 that was involved in an accident. I recall the photos showed it was at least on its side. Some interior damage. Further recollection was that it was associated with California and someone named Mark purchased it and repaired it. It seems to me he was using it personally.

How close am I to those events? Any further updates on that trailer.

In comparison to the flood damaged trailer, the Escape 19 was much more straight forward. Most damage was visible, a twisted frame or bent axle was probably the most difficult to detect. With flood damage there is so much behind the scenes. Caveat Emptor.

The linked thread said something about a "certificate of destruction." I'm not familiar with that designation and the implications for getting it legally titled/registered, assuming that all damage could be repaired.

Anybody know more?
