Sid had posted the great Halloween version of these, and when I saw a little white pumpkin at the craft store, my fiberglass-lovin heart went pitterpat!

Hi Tim,

My husband was the brains behind that project. The springs are Hillman brand 10" tension springs There's a close up pic at post #19 of all the little parts and pieces that Joel put together from the hardware store. Later, he saw the ready-made version called the Attwood Hatch Lift Spring at a marine supply.

Fellow ParkLiner friend Frank found the RV Designer H271 Springloaded Cabinet Door Struts. We had one more cabinet (that we forgot to count when buying springs) so we used a strut there.

The spring supports the door then closes with just a tap (or inadvertent bump) The struts hold strong then snap shut pretty powerfully. Advantages to both, imo.

Hope this helps!

Here is our latest modification...a new third brake light. We bought the light thinking that we might install it ourselves but decided to have a local RV shop do it. They spliced new wires from near the street side brake light, and the technician was able to fish the wires up through the column next to the small dinette, through the upper cabinets into a small hole drilled through the hull. He had to install a diode (I think that's what he called it) to prevent the current from shorting since the light is a three-wire unit. It lights when the taillights are on, and brightens for braking and for turn signals. We think it should make our travels a bit safer.

Hi Pat,

The cover came from Camping World or Amazon, probably Camco brand.
It comes in white and off-white, and I think white was our best match.

Looking forward to some warmer weather, how about you?

Tammie, I am missing taking my little trailer with me but I can't complain about the weather. We are having a wonderful Michigan winter. Thanks for the info, I need to get one this year and a mattress topper. I promised myself I wouldn't sleep on those hard cushions another year. I now want to get those lights done like you have, that is really nice. Stay warm, it will be spring before we know it…

The Parkliner sewer drain is rather low to the ground. Has anyone found a particular portable tank that works well?
