Installing Fiamma Awning on Scamp

HI!
Our 16 foot Scamp needs a new awning, so I ordered a Fiamma awning from Scamp. After (finally) 2 weeks, they sent it to the place that will install it.
They made some custom brackets for it, but attaching them is very confusing.
The RV place working on it, as well as my husband, have left about 8 messages for Scamp, between them, trying to get clarification.
So far, no response.
Has anyone installed a Fiamma awning on your Scamp?
Alternatively, any hints on how to get a response from them?

In my experience, they are quite lackadaisical/couldn't care less,
despite their "mission statement" to treat customers well.

Thanks for any help.

Just call (800)346-4962 during business hours and ask for Wayne, tell him I said that I was sure he would direct you to the right person right away!

Calling Scamp

I have called Scamp, many times. I have a 13' on order. I believe Sue will answer the phone and promptly direct your call. I have found them to be very responsive, if a bit " laid back ".

I've always had the best luck out of "Dave" the production manager. Not sure if he's still "reachable" by those that answer at Scamp. But he's been the most helpful of ANYBODY at Scamp.

Our Parkliner came with (by our request) a Fiama Awning.
It works great. They gave me the instruction and parts book with it.
The instructions are quite good, But, as you say, it may require custom made brackets to be bolted through the shell of your Scamp.
My main concern is that the roof line is curved in two directions, but the awning case is straight. So, it will be dificult to seal the gap to keep rain and wind, and sun from coming through.
However, would you believe? Fiama says you should put the awning away if it rains, or snows, or too windy. That seems to defeat the whole idea of having some shelter outside your trailer.

I had a Fiamma installed last year at Backus. My recommended contact there is Micah, have had exceptional customer service always.
Good Luck,
John

After 2 more calls to Scamp (they never returned our calls) we finally got some photos from Micah, and took them to the place that is installing the awning.
RE: the gap between the roof and where the awning starts: the best solution I have heard is to get some PVC pipe to use as a "gutter" and caulk it in.
We can do that ourselves after we get the Scamp back from the RV place working on it.
