Smile Looking for Scamp Casita or the like, I am Gabriele

Hi there all!
I am new to this forum. I have been searching for quite some time, for a 16 ft fiberglass trailer, prefer a scamp, but am open to other options as long as it has kitchen, bathroom/toilet, and airconditioning.. I would also like one newer than 2001. The floor plan I desire is the one with the side bench seat/table arrangment. I am located in Southern California.
I am pulling with a 2010 Ford Escape, that came with the factory tow package. I still need to get the trailer brakes installed and wondering where would be the best place to have that done and which brand is going to do the trick. I know I need the 7 plug thing.. I still have the little 1.5 inch reciever. I understand, should I decide to get that replaced, UHAUL is the best. Thinking about going down to PEP boys, but honestly, I don't have faith in them, due to past experience.

A little about me. I am a southern California artist who likes to paint plein air. This little trailer will help me get out "IN IT" where I like to paint. Grew tired of sleeping in the van with no potty, and at my age, I am looking forward to more comforts with out the clumsiness of a large RV. You can see some of my work by searching Gabriele Baber Art.
Thanks for the help...and any leads that might come from this.
Gabriele

Hi Gabriele, welcome aboard.

Sounds like you are doing your homework good, and should find yourself a nice trailer in time. Good luck with the hunt.

Welcome Gabriele.

Two good resources to find FG trailers.

Molded Fiberglass Trailers | Fiberglass RV's For Sale

SearchTempest Online Classifieds Search - All the Classifieds. One Search.

UHaul dealerships can be good or bad. Check out several, get estimates, referrals. A small trailer fabrication shop is probably better than a big RV or car dealership.

The plein air painters and trailer mechanics probably drink at separate bars.

ha..funny. I don't drink in bars at all, so I wouldn't know if they did.
