We left Corscicana with our brand new
Casita. Spend the first night in Amarillo ... we were the only
Casita.
#1: Next stop, Albuquerque one row over a
Casita SD. The Egg's Owner were on their way home to Tennessee.
#2: Off to the Grand Canyon. Registered at the office and ...... OMG, look who's across from our camping spot? A 2006 Casita SD. Thank goodness for Andrea & Viaretta from Nevada. This was our first 'dry camping' attempt and we had lots of questions for our fellow Casita owners.
#3: Leaving Arizona but one more stop (in Barstow) before heading for the Bayarea. Couldn't find the RV place. Magellan kept wanting us to leave town ..... I don't blame her <eg>. Then we got lost and ended up near a WalMart. Noticed three RV-Buses and remembered that (as a last option) we could spend the night at WalMart. As we pulled into the parking lot we noticed a Casita ..... hiding. Immediately we felt safe. It was a couple on their way to New York to visit family. As we're settling in ... here comes WalMart Security to tell us that this facility didn't allow overnight parking. One of the RV-Buses suggested a near by 'closed' shopping center and now this little caravan leaves for the center down the street. Didn't get much rest ...... The freight trains were running all night long. The tracks were across the street from the shopping center.
#4, #5, #6 & #7: Between Barstow and Bakersfield. Funny ..... didn't see another Casita after Bakersfield.
All in all it was a nice experience driving our little Egg home. Gave her a bath today and for the next couple days she's safe in the 'small' driveway and then it's off to her 'home' where she will wait to be shown all the CA State Parks before Arrrrrrrrrrrrnold closes them down.
