Years ago had a Honda touring bike with saddle bags that came off with the ignition key.
They were a bit small, but water tight and easy to open/remove/install.

I loved them......they were fairly tuff too.....they survived a pretty bad accident were the bike flipped 4 or 5 times so I think they would be strong enough for a traveling egg.
