counter

Unattached "grayish" countertop for now (that's why there's a bow in it). Still need to put metal edging around it. Going to put a contrasting laminate on the front of the cabinet. Redoing the kitchenette really helped to clean up the interior of the egg.

Good to see you're doing IT. My wife and I started our refurb of our 74' Pacer in December. Getting everything ready for work on the weekends has been the biggest challenge. It's not as easy as going down to Home Depot to pick up supplies, right? Currently we're on the hunt for the simple plastic edging that goes around all the fiberglass cabinets.
Cheers!
Fred

Plastic edging?

Yes, you're right about going to the local home improvement stores. We've had to improvise quite a bit
Are you looking for the black plastic edging that surrounds the openings into the cabinets?

Yes! We've found similar edging but it's always thicker than the simple smooth plastic/rubber edging that came with. The original stuff was poop brown as well and we would like to replace it with white if possible. I'm sure its out there but so far it has alluded me.

Any leads?

Thanks
Fred

edging

Now that you mention it, our was brown too, at least what was left of it. That brown trim was hanging on for dear life, it needed to go.

We ended up using a pliable drip irrigation tubing. It was sliced open evenly lengthwise, placed around the opening, left there a few days to conform to the shape of the opening and then the edges trimmed to fit. The tubing does have a very minimal roundness when applied, but it does not interfere with our cabinet doors. Now, we don't have to worry about catching a sharp edge and the edging looks perfect. We used black tubing, but I do remember seeing other colors, varying diameters etc....We thought if we couldn't find what we needed at Lowes or Home Depot, we'd try an aquarium shop for tubing.

curtain rods

DH testing metal pipe for wrap around curtain rods. He made a jig and bent the pipe around it, worked great. (The pipe bender he had, made the angle too severe for the curvature of the egg.)

Checking out some details.

A little aluminum trim around new shelving for a little clean bling.
Small leather wrapped stainless door pulls. Got a deal on those, in the clearance
bin at Lowes, only $2 each! Couldn't pass them up, I'll put those on later.

Going to tape and cover everything, in preparation for the Reflectex tomorrow.

Scamp sells a rigid white plastic trim for straight edges: Tapes & Trims : White Mini Rigid Trim (Price Per 4ft Piece). They use it on the inside of cabinet openings as well as exposed fiberglass edges on the backsplash, etc.

They also sell a flexible white trim: Tapes & Trims : White Large Trim For Entry Door (Price Per Ft). It has a thicker profile and is used for curved edges around the door.

The problem with Scamp is always the shipping. Hopefully someone can lead you to a local supplier. But if not...

Marine hulliner

Finished the Reflectex today. Started the Marine Hulliner, about 75% complete.
Need to finish last bit of ceiling and detail/edge/seam work tomorrow. Hope to start the faux ceiling tiles or floor tomorrow afternoon, we'll complete that on Monday, hopefully.

In case this helps anybody, we purchased 14 linear yards (72" wide) of silver grey geometric hulliner for our Perris Pacer, had some extra just in case of a mistake. (The geometric hulliner does have a grain)

Looking good! As far as a name for it, you all ready have it. In your post about the new axle , I would call it (Dexter).

Looking good! We're on the fence about replacing the quilted interior siding. Ours isn't ugly but we've stripped everything else...I'm most interested in the insulation benefits.

How does it meet the windows? It can't be tucked under the rubber unless you remove/replace the windows right?

Are you planning to make the scene in Palm Springs next weekend?

No Fred, we won't be able to hit Palm Springs this time We had planned to go, but we've decided to work on the trailer, trying to finish it by mid-April.

We've already removed and changed the rubber seals front and back windows. F.Y.I. Had to trim the plexi a fraction due to the dimensions of the new rubber gaskets, the original size gaskets were not available. Debating about the fabric meeting (going under/next to etc..) the rubber, need to figure that out. The side windows are out at this time, we're cleaning them, repainting, new rubber etc....

progress!

Had to break down and take the side windows to the glass guy today, couldn't get them "just right." Windows are so frustrating, started to feel like a repeat of the front and back windows, so instead of killing ourselves this time, off they went.

Got the ceiling in today. Tried out a number of adhesives and went with the one that seemed to hold the best. Hopefully we don't wake up to a ceiling on the floor

If the faux tin ceiling doesn't work out, looks like it'll be hulliner on the ceiling.
