Here is my Scamport the way it was last winter, February 22. It is a different story right now, snowise.
I did not like the looks or the price of the metal prefabbed ones, so I designed and built this in December '13. It was up in three days, works great.

Ooh very nice Paul? What did you use for the uprights, and roofing material? What degree of slope on the roof? Finally, did you concrete in the ground the uprights? Motivates me to wanna ask someone to build it for me. Bravo sir!

Wendy

Thanks for the compliment, Wendy. The slope is 4/12, like my house, just about the minimum that allows for wet snow to slide. The uprights are 4x4's. I contemplated using 6x6, but this is enough. With no sidewalls the wind does not have much to push against. The posts are pressure treated, pegged to 2x4 pressure treated pads which sit on eight gravel pads (no concrete). The roof is 12 foot Ameri-drain, 29 gauge galvanized panels, 36 in wide. The roof rafters and purlins are dimensioned for our expected snow load.
For tax purposes this is designed as a "non-permanent, movable" shelter. (Give me a flatbed F350 truck with dualies and I'll move it to a new spot in one piece - all material came in a bundle from the lumber yard on one of those.)

I hope you win the argument. That's one reason I'm still using a broom Raz

Thank you Paul. I saved your reply as an email so maybe one summer I could get someone to build it for me. I likes it. 😄
