Wasn't totally sure where to put this - happy to shift it if it ought to be elsewhere

So, was super keen on an Outback by Team Trillium trailer until I started seeing some really really bad reviews when I started to look around this morning.

Does anyone have any fairly recent feedback on these guys?? I was totally ready to hand over my money!

All posts I've seen recently have been negative for the Trillium Outback ( not to be confused with other Trilliums ).
I think your gut is correct.

Use the Google Site Search ( bottom box ) feature to read posts on the Outback.

Were the problems with the trailers? Or getting the trailers into the buyers hands? I seem to remember reading of a number of delays, communications, and other logistical issues.

Hi---I've said my piece before but am happy to say it again.....
Our dealings with Joe Thoen at Team Trillium have always been positive.

However, in all fairness, it has been a couple of years since our last interaction. Some indications on this forum (recently) are of lack of response to emails and phone calls. In the past, Joe was often too busy to answer the phone but sometimes had his wife (I think) answering. I cannot speak to present-day practices.

Our trailer, which is a 2004, is wonderful and of excellent quality. We have had zero issues with it. Product-wise, we are very pleased.

But customer service is tantamount to customer satisfaction. From the reports posted here in the recent past, he's batting far from 1000 in that department, sadly.

I'd say go with your gut.

He's been super fast at replying to my queries this week - I feel concerned though that I could lose $5k if I paid a deposit & it all went south!

You know, Kathleen, that if you have had good luck in hearing back from him in a timely manner this week, that you can always address the issues cited on this forum to him---best put all of your cards on the table---and express to him your reservations. Then, the ball is in his court as to how he responds.

From his answers you will have your answer. IMHO.

You might also want to compare the deposit required by the different manufacturers. $5,000 is a lot of money.

If I were going to make a deal with him, I would get it all in writting,( time of completion along with monetary penalties to him if he does not meet deadlines, cost and have it notarized) so that you have legal recourse.

After many delays, very slow or no responses to communication and more excuses then you can think of, I was able to pick up my 2017 Outback Trillium trailer in April 2017. The trailer was ordered June 2016.

Things went downhill since then.

The faults and discrepancy’s with the trailer and in dealing with Outback are too many to explain hear.

I am in the middle of creating a Web Page Review of OUTBACK CUSTOM TRAVEL TRAILER explaining all the poor workmanship and flaws with the trailer and the dealing with OUTBACK.

Please make certain to update us here when you have completed your new site so we can read all your comments.

The power of social media has proven so many times to be phenomenal for making change. Perhaps your website might be the impetus needed in this case, for improvements to customer service and their product.

Pete- you might look at LilSnoozy. Their factory is in SC and they do maintain a "satisfied" list of customers (I'm one) who enjoy showing off their trailers to people who find a drive to SC too daunting.

I think it might be possible with the Lil Snoozy, too. Rear entry door is 28" wide IIRC. You'd have to rig your own tie downs.

It is possible. Saw a Lil' Snoozy at a park in SC awhile back and the guy had a Honda Metro down the aisle. I'm assuming he rigged tie downs for when towing. The only issue I can see with it is making sure you don't exceed the GVWR, etc.
