We have a 1977 Scamp and it had a awning railing on it when we purchased it. We can't figure out what kind of awning connects to it. It's a rail with knobs that turn. Does anyone know what kind of awning we could use? Or if I could use a bag awning from interwestsports.com on this? We'd like to use the existing rail rather then buy a awning that needs a new rail system. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

That's not an RV awning rail.
That kind of fastener is used to attach Marine covers to boats. Years ago I had a Chevy Pick up with a Vinyl bed cover that used that type of fastener.
I'm afraid you will have to have something custom made to utilize your fasteners and it will probably cost much more than a new awning rail and a bag awning.
An awning rail will cost about $25.00 for your Scamp and they're easy to install.
On my last 13' Scamp I installed an awning rail and then bought an 8' Bag awning on ebay.
I just installed an awning rail on my 16' Scamp and a 10' bag awning.
Hope this helps,
John

What he said!

Seriously, you could use any type of awning or tarp and add the special grommets to fit those turn latches. Or just add a new rail.

Thanks for all the info - we did some more searching and found the grommets for this type of thing - maybe I can manage to sew something for it. Thanks again!
