Problem solving: front jack on Scamp 13

We just carry a small hydraulic jack. Jack up the tongue, lower the trailer’s jack, lift the tongue with it, remove the hydraulic. Reverse the process when it’s time to leave.

You will love it. I replace mine on a 2017 Scamp 13 and it was the best thing I did.

I towed my Scamp 13 2017 with a 2015 Subura Forester this last year for 10,000 miles with no trouble at all. Even on I90 at times at 80+ mph but I slowed to 75 to keep the mpg up. Across Kansas on the flat it was like nothing at all behind me.

I have another question for you. While chatting with folks at breakfast this morning, and discussing my upcoming trip through the midwest and in the Colorado mountains, two people cautioned me to be sure to lock out/disable the overdrive in my car (Subaru '09 Outback non-CVT automatic transmission). Is that something people do? I've searched the forum, but haven't found anything that seems to answer this question. I'm going to review the user's manual for my car, but I don't recall reading anything about this there. I may post this as a new thread, but thought you or someone else who's been following this thread might know.
