13'Scamp (?) on GSA Auctions for California

I just notice a Casita/Scamp on the GSA Auctions website for California. It looks like a 13' Scamp to me, but I don't know Casitas. It will require a lot of sanitizing. There are pictures on the site. It is located in Pioneertown in the desert near Palm Springs.

Post a link.

Probably a "Military" rental trailer that was available to the troops to rent. Some military bases offer this trailer rental service to the troops as a perk and they have typically been Scamps/Casita's.

Be optimistic: With all that evidence, there must be a thoroughbred race horse in there, somewhere!

I was thinking those were dead flies, but maybe it is rat poop. It looks pretty intact, really, from the photos. Just dirty and needing to be completely sanitized.

It's in high desert, very dry and hot even in winter. If it gets wet it drys quickly.

I agree with Karen, in the south west Hanta virus can be in droppings, pretty nasty stuff.

A few years ago at a campground in Georgia we met a family that were in the military. They were in a Casita 16 or 17,(can't remember which) that they borrowed at the military base. The guy said he had used the base campers a few times, they were nice when new, but got beat up pretty quickly.

I found this video about a month ago. Asked about their location, looked it up and saw that it looked to be at a base. Sometimes they get beat up a bit TOO much.

He must say ten times, "Man these things are cool" while all the time calling them Skampers instead of Scamps. And I can't find any definition of "prep" that fits his usage.

Anyway they were " sitting on property next to an RV Park" (according the comment by the video's poster). But they both look like good projects and quite restorable despite the opinion of the "Skamper" expert. The pop-ups, not so much.. thats the stickie vs fiberglass difference.
