Different lawyers, different laws, different driving conditions. Having driven quite a few miles in Europe I was struck with the lack of no passing zones. If you think you can make it, go for it. Blind curve, creating a hill, whatever, passing was allowed.

4500 Weight

We had our 4500 weighed, it was 1,700 pounds with standard items in place. Therefore, we can only assume that it will be 2,000+ pounds fully loaded down.

Rather than guesses from armchair quarterbacks, may I provide a real world example.

We just completed a 3363 mile trip towing our Trillium 4500 from Nova Scotia to PEI, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario and back to Nova Scotia taking in the Maritime Vintage trailer show along the way. We were two adults, a child, a dog and all our gear. We weighed our loaded trailer with half a tank of water at a roadside weigh scale at 2050 lbs. We averaged 19-20 mpg on flat ground and 16-17 mpg on hilly ground while keeping the speed to 60-65 mph.

Our 4 cylinder Rav4 performed flawlessly 😊

Was the trailer weighed attached to your tow vehicle or did you put the entire trailer on the scale by itself (including trailer tongue weight). Thanks for getting the data. I always have liked Trillium trailers. Sounds like if I ever get a second trailer to pull behind the Element it will be a Boler 13. Short trips only.

We weighed the full rig, car and trailer, pulled off to the side, disconnected, reweighed the car and then subtracted the car from the full rig.
