Casita window coverings

Someone asked about window coverings in a Casita. I posted that I installed Hunter Douglas roller shades. I was asked to post a photo, but for the life of me, I can not find the original thread to reply to. Hope the attached photo appears and finds its way to the person who asked for it.

Shirley, I'm curious as to what you used to hang the rollers. All I've seen is the pleated type shades hung. Maybe a pic of the roller end ???

Another question

The shades look great!! I'd like to know too how you secured them to the wall. Also, I assume you don't secure them to the loops that the original blinds did. Is this a problem? Do the shades just dangle? Thanks!!

If I enlarge the picture I can see a piece of hardware attached to the bottom of the window frame. Perhaps a close-up of that?

We are looking to do something about the venetian blinds also. However, we do like to be able to adjust the amt of light coming in and moderate the visibility of people looking in from the outside. With roller blinds it seems to be either open or closed; even partially closed is not the same as adjusting the VBs. Still ,it is worth putting more thought into this type of window treatment...

Roller Shades

I needed something sturdy and without strings because I camp with my dogs. Andy at Windows Van Go in broomfield, CO. helped me install these. There is a spring loaded mounting bracket for the shades in a standard install. We used those in the existing holes on the window frame for all windiws except the back. It is so curved, Andy installed a flat aliminum bar across the top of the windiw and installed the standard bracket to that bar.
In a home installation, there are neodymium magnet rollers that attract the bottom of the shade to hold it closed. I attached small magnets to the bottom of my shade bar and still use the magnet rollers to hold the shade down and keep it from bouncing during travel. I have several long trips on these shades and I couldn't be happier.
