Stinky Slinky Sad; I made a similar slinky holder similar to Carol's & Frank's photos while my 2005 13 ft
Scamp was in storage. As I had bolted the clasp holder to the edge of the cap, I had to make some cutouts on the holder so the cap would fit - not an easy job to make these: [ . Cut the post to 6" shorter than trailer width, glued one end cap (mistake - should have seen Frank's post). Picked up the trailer at tire store who was going to lift the trailer so I could crawl under to position my shiny white new slinky holder....big surprise!!....there was absolutely NO place to position or secure it under the trailer, unless I drilled holes in cross frame, and I'm not about to weaken the frame.
Plan B - So onto Frank's idea of bolting it to the
battery lid...unfortunately the lid is secure by a webbed belt that buckles on top of the lid...so no way to secure lid to
battery box, unless I took off the gas canister. And no room behind the battery box. Can't put the battery box on top of the slinky holder, it's too heavy, and no room between battery box and gas tank to even put your hands to secure the battery lid from the front.
Plan C- Attach to top of rear bumper...no room below spare tire.
Plan D - Somehow attach to end of rear bumper - would crunch & self-destruct at impact with a concrete barrier or another vehicle.
Plan E - Drink a couple of margaritas and do what??? There's gotta be a way to use my "slinky creation".
Suggestions GREATLY APPRECIATED!
