The second, your countertop trim, is that screwed in? Is that how you attached it? Thanks so much!

Thanks for the kind words. My wife found the storage bins at a store called Solutions. They have a bunch of locations in Ontario. I'm not sure about Alberta. I made the bed area to fit the bins.

The counter edging came from Vintage Trailer Supply. The Home Depot has very similar stuff. It's carefully bent around the curve of the counter and screwed in place.

Greetings all. It's been a while since I've done any work on the Boler and it's time to get back at it. At the moment I have the axle out and a new one on the way. I've emptied out the interior once again and I'm starting the job of painting the interior. I've checked lots of threads here and I'm painting the interior cabinets and ensolite with a good primer followed up with a good quality paint. I've also put in a new backsplash which is made for a sheet of plastic type material that I got at Home Depot. It comes in 4x8 sheets. I've only used a small section for the backsplash so if anyone is near Toronto and could use the remainder you're welcome to it. The colour of the cabinets and the ensolite will be the same as the backsplash which I guess you would call putty. The cabinet doors will be painted a contrasting colour which we haven't chosen yet. My wife will be sewing up some new curtains as well. I also picked up a box of laminate flooring that I found on sale and will be putting that in after the painting is done. Pics as we go for anyone interested.

I just got my new axle today. I ordered it from a local trailer place that takes the measurements I provided and has the axle made to order. Rated for 2000-25000lbs has Flexride adjustable arms and Dexter brakes. Looks pretty good. $360 taxes in. I put it under trailer to check the fit and it's great except the mounting brackets are 1/2" shorter than the originals. As a result the axle tube hits the frame before the bolts are snug. Tomorrow I'll pick up some bar stock, drill a few holes and sandwich it between the axle and frame.

I noticed the pics disappeared from my previous post. Not sure how that happened. Anyway the interior painting and laminate floor installation is almost done. I'll post a few photos when complete.

Also be aware the Flexi Ride axle arms are 1.5" shorter than the original Dexter (4.5" vs 6"). What this means is if you mount the axle in the same location the wheels will be offset 1.5" from the center of the wheel well opening.

Also make sure the brakes are on the correct side, if you are installing as a leading arm configuration the brakes are probably installed by the manufacturer as trailing arm, you need to swap brake backing plate assemblies side to side so the rotation for the magnet and arm are correct.

Thanks Ian. I'll look into that before final installation.

Got the axle installed today. I solved the mounting problem by getting a couple of pieces of solid aluminum 1 inch thick, drilling some holes and sandwiching it between the frame and the axle mounting pad. It worked perfectly and the axle was bolted in with no issues. Ian, the trailing arms were a bit shorter than the original but it still looks ok. Now I think the trailer sits too high. In the attached pic it's still sitting on some wood blocks so is haven't yet decided if I'll pull off the trailing arms and change the angle. With the old collapsed axle the trailer was close to scraping the pavement on numerous occasions, that's not going to happen now. Changing the angle of the trailing arms looks easy so I'll see how it looks when its attached to my TV. Ignore the outside of the trailer. It hasn't seen soap since last fall. A thorough sanding and a roll and tip paint job are on my list.

Also finished up most of the interior painting and the installation of the laminate floor. Thought I'd post a few progress pics. I still have to do some final touch ups. I'm missing a handle or two. My wife is going to be making new curtains the interior needs a good cleaning and the mattress put back in.

I pulled the trailing arms off the new axle this morning in an effort to lower the ride height a bit. Turned out to be a simple job. 20 minutes per side. One bolt, a little persuasion with a hammer and the arm was off. I used the marks punched on the spindle to make my adjustment. It's about 1 1/2 inches lower. I would recommend the adjustable trailing arm axle to anyone doing a swap. I haven't towed with it yet but so can't comment on that.

While I didn't get to do all of the jobs that I had planned to this summer I did manage to finish painting the interior, add some Umbra coat hooks, install the vinyl flooring and fill and sand the rivet holes in the body. The gel coat is faded and chalky and could really use a paint job but that will have to wait. Instead I gave the whole trailer a wet sanding with 600, 1000 and 1500 grit sandpaper and then washed and waxed it. It looks pretty presentable now both on and out. My wife got the interior sorted out and sewed up all new curtains. We leave next week for a two week trip. We're making a straight shot for the Florida Keys staying at Long Key State Park, Boyds in Key West and Anastasia State Park in St Augustine. I'll do a thread on the trip for anyone who might be interested.

Martin, Your trailer looks great. I especially like the redesigned kitchen cabinets. I never liked the odd sizes of the original design. I am however going to have to wait for the kids to grow up before I can add a microwave to mine.
Have a great trip and enjoy your trailer!
