Hi Willis: I tried to send you a private message, but must be doing something wrong. If you would e-mail me at rosid@telus.net, we could arrange to meet after you get off work on Apr. 10th. Thanks
Sid

Hi All FG enthusiasts. Finally got around to taking some pics to show what I have done over the last month.
Picked up my paneling at Escape Trailers in Chilliwack a few weeks back and have been working on the installation since. I found it very time consuming because
every piece of panel had to be custom cut to fit.
Today I installed the lino (boy was it hot here today. 29 degrees celsius) and tomorrow expect to start on the benches, cabinets etc.
I am including some pics for your perusal.

Sid

Talking Looks good Sid

It looks like you're heading to the home stretch, have you decided on a floor plan and how big the bed will be.

Are you putting the furnace back in and what about the fridge are you staying with the original 3 way or are you going for a 110volt fridge.

I'm excited for you it looks like you'll be out camping in your BeachComber before too long keep the pictures coming.

Cheers,
Rick.

Hi Rick: In answer to your questions, we have just decided on the floor plan. The bed will go across the back end. The head and foot will be 48"
wide (we are not big people). Of course the middle of the bed will be about 53". That gives a little more back side room.
We will not have a furnace. I purchased a "Mr. Heater" which uses 1 lb. propane tanks, just in case we need some heat in the evenings.
If we have shore power, we will use an electric catalytic heater.
Last summer I purchased a 12volt DC Waeco fridge with a danfoss compressor. It only uses about 3-3 1/2 amps so should be able to run for about 2 days on a
good deep cycle battery. If we have shore power we can keep the battery up with a smart charger. (an acquaintance of mine who spent 32 years converting
Grey Hound buses into motor homes told me that is all that he uses now in his motorhome). I also purchased a 100 watt solar panel which should have no problem
keeping the battery up. I also purchased 4 36-led lights for the interior. It's going to be interesting to see how all this works out.
The fridge will be relocated to just behind the door and raised up about 20" off the floor. We are getting too old to get on our knees to see what is in the fridge.
I'm hoping to have most of the work done in 2 weeks. I won't get much done after mid june, as my wife will be getting radiation treatments in Kelowna
for 3 or 4 weeks so we will be away Mon. to Fri. every week.
I hope we get a chance for a short campout before that time. The Beachcomber may not be finished but I hope it will be usable.

Sid

Talking Good to hear from you Sid

Sounds like you're making excellent progress on the BeachComber and I hope you and your wife get to use it too before her treatments.

One suggestion I have for you is don't skimp out on the foam for the bed, we used 2, 4inch thick high density foam layers stacked then topped with a 3inch memory foam from WallyMart and it sleeps as good as our Temperpedic.

Best of luck with the treatments.

Rick.

Hi All: I just looked back and it's hard to believe, my last post was May 2012.
I worked hard on the B15 in May and had high hopes, but you all know what happens to the best laid plans or good intentions.
In June, July and Aug. we made over 20 trips to Kelowna(440 kms return)for my wifes's radiation treatments, tests etc. So far everything looks good
and we are very optomistic. All the driving did take up a lot of my hoped for time re: working on the trailer. We also in that time took 2 ten day
trips to the coast, soooooooo finally 2 weeks ago we took "Revive" out for her shake down cruise, (I've named our trailer Revive because she once
was dead but now is alive again.) We visited a very nice provincial park campground about 1 hour away. All went well. We actually spent 3 nights
and it was a pleasant experience. The 12 volt DC fridge worked very well and the solar panel seemed to keep the battery up although next time I will
try to park where there is more sun available rather than in the shade. The battery is a several year old car battery, so I will look into getting
a good deep cycle battery for the future.
Rosana sewed the cushions covers and curtains. The only concern I have is that the B15 is a little heavy for our Kia Rondo. We stopped at the Gov't
weigh scales and it weighed in at 1900 lbs. Our max. towing capacity for the car is 2,000 lbs. The tongue weight was 220 lbs. and our car hitch max.
is 200 lbs. A little to close for comfort. We don't want to get rid of our car as we really enjoy it. so we are now weighing our options.??????
I am attaching some pics of the 99% finished product for your perusal.
Sid

Sid, It turned out great! Glad to hear things are looking good for Rosana.
I have not touched mine since we came through your neck of the woods in july! Just been enjoying the summer (to hot to work on a trailer). I feel the trailer bug coming back on strong though, and will be back to work on it soon.
Where did you take it for the shakedown? Your cushions would be right at home in my trailer

Lovely upholstery, flooring and paint job. Read all seven pages and it's hard to believe looking at the B15 then and now. Kudos!

Good looking interior! And an actual space between stove and sink, which is something that is rare on even larger trailers. What is the capacity of the fridge if you don't mind me asking?

Interested?

Hi. I'm just looking for some help. I bought a beachcomber, that looks very much like the one you bought, but even in rougher shape. The frame was totally rotten, so I built a new one from Aluminum, put an adjustable suspension in it, electric brakes, etc etc.
Anyways, I just don't have the space for it anymore, and I don't feel comfortable enough to know how to plumb and wire things in. Would you be at all interested in taking one on as a project?
Not sure where in BC you are, but I live in Langley, just 30 mins outside of Vancouver.
I'm in no hurry and this could just be a slow project for you to make a little extra cash??
If you get me your email I'll send you a bunch of photos.
Regards

Hi Brian: I live in Grand Forks which is about 5 hrs. from Langley, depending on how you drive of course.
Are you looking for someone to do the work for you or are you looking to sell your B15?? You said you have redone the frame and suspension. Do you know how much it weighs now?? Tell me more about it.
