Hi Melly, not sure anymore, but I think so. I try not to keep receipts as it can get very disheartening when you add it all up.

I also decided to tackle the AC system. There was a circuit breaker box but it was just hanging loose. There was also an uncovered junction box and some connections just twisted outside of a box. The previous owner had installed a new under-cabinet mounted LED light, but I wanted to run things off of DC so I took that out (It was also poorly wired as seen in the original pics). I ripped out everything I didn't want an simplified the wiring. It is now mounted on the wall (and yes the on and off are upside down), but I have yet to finish it (not grounded). There is also one slot open that I will use for a converter at some point in the future.

I also decided to refinish the stove-top. It was pretty nasty looking and had lots of rust. I spent a few hours sanding and trying to get it to look nice. However, it appeared to be nickel plated steel and the rusty spots looked like they lost their plating. I had some high heat aluminum paint laying around from another project and decided to give it a spray. In my opinion it turned out amazingly! We don't plan on using the stove unless it is a rainy day as we have a grill/stove that I like to use that we usually put on a table outside. That being said, I like things to look nice if we do intent on using them. While I had the stove-top out I also cleaned up the rest of the stove and found a dime, a penny and an earing. Sadly it wasn't diamond or gold so it just went to the trash!

Up next will be handles for the cabinets.
How did you clean your stove top to look so good. Mine is in about the same condition and I need to cean it up.

Oops sorry I see you used som high heat paint, which was my thought also. Yours looks amazing.

Hi Nancy, you are right, I tried to clean it up but it was too far gone. Just be mindful that most painted surfaces are no longer foodsafe (i.e. if you drop food on it, throw the food out).

Well it has been quite a while since I last posted, but here is what I have done since the last post.

Last year I found a crack on my frame, with a camping trip booked for the next day I had a friend weld on some reinforcements to get me there and back (was a short drive).

But I knew that was only a band-aid solution, so I ordered a new frame from Metro in Winnipeg. This arrived in May of 2021.

I then got to the task of sanding and fiberglass repair on the outside of the trailer. (which was a tonne of work)

I also added an access hatch to reach under one of the rear benches.

And I spent 3+ days polishing all the aluminum.

One thing I had one the previous frame were permanently mounted stabilizer jacks, so I wanted to add this to the new frame as well.

I also repainted the fridge in a nice black. I will be adding some kind of new front to it, but that can be done later.

At this point the shell is on the new frame, and I am prepping for paint. I also need to do some work on the floor as it is not very solid. I had done some reinforcing strips while it was off the frame, but apparently that was insufficient. It is a molded fiberglass floor with ribs running front to back. I suspect that whatever was in the ribs (probably plywood) has somehow gone rotten.. but I haven't investigated enough yet.

I am getting close to completing (Ha! as if one could ever bet truly done!) my own boler resto and im starting to look at the pile of parts i wont be using. I have the original stove which i believe looks a lot like the one from this trailer and while everything else seems unusable, the top of the stove is in pretty good shape. It is that green/pistachio color from the 70s haha. I can send it to you free if you pay postage, rather than putting it in the bin!

Thanks, I used high heat copper paint on mine and I am happy with how they turned out. Not installed yet. We had to set the project aside for awhile due to hubby's health issues, al lis well now. The boler has gone for paint. (Atomic orange) to match the tow vehicle 1952 Chevy pu.

I am in Portland OR. I was planning on making a post with all the leftover stuff once I am done, it would be a shame to throw things out if someone can use them!

Got the first coat of paint on the boler this weekend. I used interlux brightside and mixed yellow and red (3 parts yellow, 1 part red) for the bottom. Used the roll and tip method.

Also I used the epoxy primer kote and I cannot recommend it enough for fixing up small cracks in the gel coat.

A little update, I finished installing all of the windows last night (just before it started pouring rain I might add!) and things are looking shiny!

I used stainless steel screws and nylon locking nuts instead of rivets on everything except the window in the door. The side windows used 6-32 x 1/2" or 5/8" and the majority of other places used 8-32 x 3/4" (I could have gone with 5/8" but I didn't order any that size). If the screw is in contact with aluminum I used nylon washers to isolate it and prevent galvanic corrosion.

For the majority of exterior screws I used metal bonded sealing washers that I ordered from McMaster Carr https://www.mcmaster.com/washers/sea...ing-washers-6/

Up next will be the interior!

I have been doing more work, but it seems like it never ends!

I installed a new door holder (and shot a youtube video for those interested) https://youtu.be/Pkabxw7o3xo

I also started working on the new doors. The original ones were long gone and replaced with stained plywood. I didn't really like the look and tried painting them, but I didn't like that either. Decided to go with red oak to match the tables I had previously done. Got three done and hung one to see what it would look like. They are made from old hardwood flooring that I salvaged from a friends house when he was doing a renovation.

How much paint did you need for the exterior? I'm getting ready to paint my 1987 Cadet, and I'm wondering how much I'll need. I'll be rolling it. Is a gallon enough?

You may have seen the post about this modification, but I am reposting here to keep all of the details of my rebuild in one place.

I basically considered the under the bed storage to be inaccessible for the most part because I hated moving my bedding around. To remedy this problem I added an exterior access hatch.
For those interested in doing the same I have also made a video and uploaded it to youtube

Slowly but surely I am getting videos up on my youtube, which means I am also able to share more here!

I made new cabinet doors out of oak. The rails and stiles are reclaimed hardwood flooring and the panels are oak veneered plywood. I also used the same plywood to replace the panel on the fridge.

You can watch the video here:

https://youtu.be/hSqIobYFgHQ

As for details not shared in the video, the backsplash is a vinyl floor tile from Quadrostyle

https://quadrostyle.com/collections/...31177186148450

The bit that hides the wires between the top cabinet and the bottom cabinet is a chuck of oak that I cut a deep groove in the back.

The stove top cover is just some pine that I had laying around. It is a bit warped so I will need to make something else to replace it.
