Hi! I am Diana, a new owner of a 1978 17' Boler!

Thank you so much for having me in the group! I have already perused many of the threads looking for ideas and answers! Hopefully I can add to the collected knowledge!

I just purchased the Boler last week. I will hopefully be doing some camping with her over the next few weeks to get an idea of what changes to make.

She is fairly original, with some wear and tear. But who wouldn't be after 39 years?!?

I have uploaded some photos, and will update when I have made some changes.

First off, curtains, cushions, and carpet.
Next, ensolite repair, propane safety check, plumbing and electrical assessment, etc.
Then, painting, customizing, bathroom.... and everything!

Easy to make a list, hey?

:you forgot the most important part which is the Frame under neath and the tow hitch, Axles, Tire rims, tires never pull old tires as rotten rubbber is not fun.
So have someone in the know crawl under trailer and check out condition of the frame, and same goes for axles only here u do not have to crawl under.

axle,frame,tires

Hi Stude,
Thanks for the tips, you are absolutely correct!

I should have mentioned, I have already crawled under (before purchasing!) and checked out the frame and axle, and it is in quite good condition.

Newer tires, although I do need to replace the spare.

I have a feeling, I will be learning as I go!
I am truly a newbie, and appreciate all the knowledge you have.

1980 17'Boler
2007 Dodge Grand Caravan tow vehicle

Hitching, towing, unhitching, leveling, draining the black and grey holding tanks, we using a honey pot...backing it up when needed...(I suck at that part but still trying) rolling out canopy, rewinding canopy, setting up the dining table, dropping the dining table to make a bed...
RV antifreeze for winter protection. Draining the antifreeze and flushing the water lines and hot water heater in the spring. Sanitizing the water tank...

It's all worth it!

Have a safe and happy time but make sure safety comes first.

We get our Boler safety checked every year.

To be safe:
have your propane lines checked before your first trip.

Install a carbon monoxide and smoke detector

Replace your fire 9extinguisher.

Get your brakes checked and your bearings packed.

NEVER, EVER use Bearing Buddies. EVER!

Make sure all your lights are in working order. I found an installed electric brake system was great for me.

All the other advice given is very good advice.

Hi, D--Mamma Ds Porch:

Welcome to FGRV--you've found a great resource here!

Your trailer looks good, your improvements should make it outstanding!

I like your upholstery...looks either original or authentic--and a lot like ours!
(73 amerigo, redone in 2015/2016)

Happy fixing--happy camping!

BEST
Kai
