Scamp smell and liner falling ?

Does the scamp rat fur holed cooking and other smells or is that not really a problem and does it stay stuck to the walls.
I have the chance to buy a 2003 scamp or a 1985 Uhaul VT 16'. I don't want to get something that is gong to start to reek and hard to clean. I currently have a uhaul CT13 and love it but moma wants a bathroom.

Try some of this. It is expensive but it kills mold and gives a pleasant smell.

Do I understand that you don't have the problem of smell or falling down liner but are concerned that this could be a problem if you purchase a Scamp with rat fur interior?

It's not a problem!

The rat fur seems to be water repellent at least to some degree, so I expect it to resist trapping odors also. If there ever was water long term and there is a musty smell, that is a different story and the mold should be removed (killed) first. Any of those things that cover up one smell with another are awful. I always prefer a scent free detergent and a whiff of fresh air.

The headliner/rat fur in the Scamp does not absorb oder or moisture.
My 92 Scamp has not had any issues with falling down rat fur.

Neither has my 1988. But, then again I don't cook greasy/smelly food nor have I hung anything on the walls, not even using drapery hooks.

The only thing I stick to the fur is some Velcro that we use to keep the curtains open. When I yank it from the fur, there is no lifting, it holds well. I am thinking of getting some Reflectix, cut it to the size just larger than the windows and stick it to the fur over the windows by means of the "hook" part of Velcro (Velcro is a trademark, generically it is hook-and-loop) to keep heat in for those cold "spring time" excursions. Is Reflextix tough enough for repeated handling? Or is there something better? Has it been tried or am I whistling in the cold wind?
