Brandon, I'm wondering about the vents next to the door and the fasteners visible around the edge of the door itself- what're they for?

I can't help you with the fasteners on the door, but the vents next to it were for the air conditioner. Back then they installed it in the lower part of the closet, opposite the kitchen. I have the same thing in my 1999.

window on the door was leaking and has since been repaired, I think it must have been leaking for quite some time as the door was filled with water, this had caused the door to start to flatten out and the door would not seal properly. those fasteners are attached to ribs that holds the door to the proper shape, the door also has new hinges and a new rubber seal. all the fasteners are stainless steel and have butyl tape sealing them.

There is no Air conditioner in the camper. the space left in the closet is used for a microwave or toaster oven, or just extra storage.
